Energy is one thing we do lack, and this is where I hope Matos can bring about a change in our game.
I hope so too, it does sound like it's something he wants from his team. I can't remember the exact quote, it went something along the line of who works the hardest will play.

I really think our front 3 need to be sent out to play a 60 minute game - run your arses off and close down like a cup final. When you are blowing through your arse you will be subbed.
Any soft trotting or jogging and your career here in Swansea will be very short.

6m and 25k for five years is looking irresponsible so far. If somebody bids for Vipotnik in January we may have to accept to clear the way for Idah and it will be make or break.

Vipotnik is not a good player either, he does, though, sometimes score great goals.

Until we sort the midfield out, we’ll get the best from nobody up front.
Disagree on Vipotnik, he is more than good enough for me. We offer him absolutely nothing in the way of chances. I watch him and I think his overall game has improved exponentially from last year, his one touch hold-up play and lay offs have been vital to any play we have through the middle this season.

A bright spark in a terrible season for us so far.

Absolutely agree. He's visible and involved in all areas of the pitch... Long may his form continue!*

* As long as he's with the Swans, that is!

He is a lovely finisher but I do not think he is good enough ultimately. Chances are not only created for you, he needs to offer more because to me he can be near invisible for long stretches in between the goals.

Do you find him quite static? Personally I do.

I don’t think he’s quite as good at creating his own chances as someone like Piroe but we knew when we signed him he wasn’t the most mobile player. It’s my opinion but I can’t blame him for not being as involved at times when we push everything out wide. The only times we do anything centrally are when he drops to facilitate so he’s often not in the right position to finish the move.

Personally feel he’d get a hatful in a functioning team.

I think most defenders in the league will not mind playing against him. If they are slow, he does not have scary speed and if they are smaller or less powerful he can not bully them either. We need him right now because we have such poor attacking players that we are reliant on him pulling a rabbit out of the rat with any half chance he gets but it is easy to see us needing somebody who does more if we actually start to put a good level of squad together.

I'd love to mark him on a Saturday afternoon compared to someone with a bit of pace.

If Matos wants a team with a high press I can see him potentially struggling as well, unless he had someone up top supporting him.

One of the best parts of Ian Rush's game that went unnoticed was his willingness to defend from the front.
