The last time one of our very twpest managers rested Matty was Southampton in the Cup.

Martin made Downs captain and CDM - warra complete fack-up that was - Downs was completely bamboozled, flummoxed and way out of his depth with the complexity of Martin's bonkers system - until Matty came on 2nd half to rescue the situation and take us into extra time.

Matty - The last remaining shred, our corporate glue to our proper playing heritage.

Yeah, because of course Flynn Downes was famously shit for us, landing Best Newcomer at our end of season awards before going on to play Premier League football for both West Ham United and Southampton.

Meanwhile Statty Grimes is still here, still doing his pointless passing, still doing hardly any goals or assists, whilst still treating opposition goals as if they're of someone else's concern to sort out.

If he's a glue, what kind of glue is he? Is he one of the 50p ones you get off a stall in Clydach market?

I've backed Grimes many times over the past few years, (I've got his shirt on my wall), but I can't put up a case for him anymore, and that goes for the rest of the frauds.

I'm all for Williams getting the sack, where we go from there is anyone's guess.

Its plain as day we have a weak squad, still good enough to tread water as a Championship side with a fair wind behind us for a couple more seasons perhaps. What can't be denied is the fact that the general malaise that has set in since Jenkins, Morgan and the rest sold us down the river will see us drop, either next season or the one after. The cupboard is bare.

I actually have never heard him say he got tactics wrong. Genuinely, has anyone ever heard him say this in any match lost? Always the players fault, pitch, etc

I like(d) Super Matty. When he played in midfield pushing forward and looking for incisive passes. That stopped when Martin arrived and has regressed more with Williams continually deploying him as a CB.
I feel he has run his course with us. He is too settled in his role, with the fact that he'll always play, that people and the media still laud him up.

Well I heard this afternoon 2 very interesting things about Lord Grimes.
1• You wouldn't be surprised to hear that he is very arrogant. He is full of the "do you know who I am" attitude.
2• Apparently he is disliked by the rest of the players. Not good for a captain really, is it ?
