I read the first part and tried reading part 2 twice, but gave up. I’ll give it another go when I’ve got a bit more hwyl. They should have insisted all season ticket holders are registered to join the Trust and that the £10 membership fee is reintroduced, that would generate an income in excess of £100k pa which would build up for that rainy day.
It’s my belief the old regime dealt the Trust a huge blow when they cancelled the membership arrangement after promotion to the PL, I believe it was a calculated move to weaken the Trust’s financial position. Hindsight....

Not one I was a fan of personally, mainly because a) other things were more important and negotiations need to focus on them first and b) there will be plenty of ST holders who won't want to be Trust members. Think that's been proven to be the case.
I would like it to be an optional option on future ST sales though. No reason why it couldn't be.

Certainly no reason why it couldnt be an "optional add in" to a ST sale - given the strong working relationships both sides talk about it would feel wrong not for that to happen?
I remember when the automatic Trust membership was withdrawn - that was led very much by one of the other shareholders who felt that it was wrong that the Trust benefit from the season ticket sales when his own businesses didnt
Another one of those moments you look at on with hindsight with alarm bells ringing but as it was on a time of continued growth for the club it was left to pass

Before my time, but wasn't that an "opt-out" approach?
So, this other shareholder?![]()

I think it was if I remember exactly but opt outs were exceptionally rare, it would be fair to say that it was the monies from those ST tie ins that effectively allowed the Trust to double down the investment in around 2007 (I think) when everyone had the chance to do so
Ah yes the other shareholder

I dunno where to begin with that one.
Ok I'll have a go, so what your saying is that all season ticket fans should be forced into membership as a means of revenue collection for a rainy day that's already here by the way. f**k my eyes.
The horse bolted fella, the trust is finished.
