"Martin accepts his possession-based style has attracted criticism.

"We'd love to have won two games but only one team has won two games and 11 or 12 (teams) from the Championship went out in the cup," he said."

Strange normally he's not bothered about other clubs.

"But Martin insists he does not want Cameroon midfielder Olivier Ntcham to leave the club, despite speculation linking him with a move to France."

"Would I invite an offer for Olivier? No. I don't know what [chief executive] Julian [Winter], [head of football operations] Josh [Marsh] and the owners think."

If that's true then, he hasn't bothered to find out the clubs thoughts on losing Ntcham, a player he wants to keep

Someone needs to tell him that fans haven’t got any issue with possession football. It Russel Martin’s ‘style’ of walking pace, tactically the inept football that’s the problem.

As yet there hasn't been any speculation on a loan move for him.

🤔

Even Carlton Palmer can see the faults

On another note wasn't he close to the job at some point? Maybe before Sousa or Rodgers?
