From two of the people who have been at the heart of it. One of whom was also fined for breaking his own covid laws. So let’s not be lulled into thinking this is a principled position from them. And if Johnson were to go he’s only going to be replaced by another Tory. So let’s not get too excited.

Both of them moving into position for a Tory leadership contest?

Or at least the one after this one if they distance themselves from Johnson enough. Sunak probably won’t be a candidate this time round given his covid fine and his family being tax dodgers and all. Javid will.

I think Johnson will hang on in there.. he's on his 3rd wife and is on a mission like Putin to see the job through despite the complete and utter incompetence he's showing.. he's having a mid-life crisis of sorts, they need to give a psychiatrist a ring IMO

I hope he does. Much better chance to get rid of them at the next election if Bojo is still in charge. Doubly so if these scandals keep coming at the current pace. You know if they oust him now his successor will distance themselves (however integral they were to this government) and get a popularity boost.

Damning words in both of the resignation letters, they all point to a culture of lies and complete loss of integrity.

Sunak probably sees this as one step towards redemption. He'll have eyes on the prize of the PM job at some point.

There may have to be some kind of reshuffle…

That is even more terrifying, Nadine Dorries is potentially going to be the Chancellor.

Dear God, no. Can she even count to 10 unaided?

Where's dear old Maggie when she's needed, perhaps good old Maggie May will return

Are there any processes available to get him out before the 1 year leadership challenge expiry?

It's going to take civil unrest and even then it won't be enough

Possibly. Shapps is the ultimate lickspittle though. Gove is a treacherous fucker.

I was chuckling at Gove in that cabinet video earlier. Constantly twitching and touching his lips. He has a serious beak issue. Dorries or Schapps as chancellor would be hilarious!
