I'm hoping he will give everything for us. I was angry about the effort he put in to playing against us but that displays his attitude and professionalism as a player. Downes is a good player and will get better but he was going to leave sometime and in my opinion we have got a brilliant player as a replacement.

Went off in the international against Belgium with a hamstring problem. Hopefully routine. He's back doing the general running and fitness stuff, so should be ready for the start of the season (or very close).
