Joe Allen's holiday to Qatar

Wales is a better team with Allen in it and he has played a massive part in Wales getting to a World Cup, if there is a chance he could be fit he couldn’t be left out. It’s not a Cooper/Allen dilemma - Copper should have gone too as there’s no justification for Jonny Williams being anywhere near an international squad.

I'm not arguing Allen v Cooper, if Joe has a chance of playing, he should be there and so should Oli. I'm talking about the likes of Johnny Williams

It's only an issue where there is a clear better replacement of international quality. If there isn't I think it's fair to give those that have done their bit gettin Wales to where they are from where they were a jolly to a World Cup as a reward. Plus if you have an emergency 20 meinutes need, experience duffer trumps a younger duffer. Leaving out a player playing well in the championship for the likes of some of those other hopeless nothings is the issue.

Wales basically at best have one team, with no real replacements and no world class players (anymore). They do have players capable of world class moments and so 'Pagey' (🙄) surely has to build on a Rourke's Drift like defence throughout and hope that a few world class moments rear their heads. Otherwise we'll be home before you can say iranusa, flying on Air Anus.

Just read 2026, USA, Canada, Mexico.. oh well, let's hope Donald Trump will be President and argues with Mexico again

48 teams as well.

Many on here wondered about how many games Joe would play for us let alone Wales
Him, Ramsay and Bale are very close to the end.
Hopefully the magic sponge will prevail.

I will say I was pleasantly surprised with how well he was moving in the pre match drills.

If I was a betting man, I would imagine he’d at least be available off the bench against Iran.

Back in full training today apparently. Good news and perhaps it won't just be a 'holiday' for Joe after all.

And could be available for the Norwich game?

Pity we apparently screwed up his treatment.

As one or two here will know, Joe's medical at the outset when he signed was glossed over. A fail, with some proper underlying issues and major risks. The risks were taken on the premise he would add plenty, with a view to medium term coaching and management to re-inculcate The Swansea Way.

He exceeded all expectations initially and played his part, Until he broke down.

There's real optimism about his involvement at the WC - he's been properly prepared with injections and is good-ish to go......

We need his nous in the spine.

We should never have signed him, Barry Banan would have been a much better signing , plays every game and can score a goal as well.

He did ok in his brief cameo, got in to the right places and gave a better account of his ability than most of his teammates.

Seriously? He cleared the ball straight to their player to shoot and score for the first goal, and lost control of the ball in midfield which allowed them to breakaway and score the second goal. If that's doing OK i wouldn't like to see him having a stinker.

I left about 30 seconds before he gave the ball away and only saw those mistakes on the highlights yesterday, until then he’d been better than a lot of his colleagues.
I normally wait until the end of a game before leaving, but given the length of the injury time, the fact the police had changed the post match exit arrangements and the fact we had to get back to the airport to catch a flight on the other side of town I nipped off. Well disappointed with our effort in general.

Am I understanding this correct? You made it all the way to Qatar to watch the match, and then left early? That's amazing, fair play. My old dad would be proud, he always had to beat the traffic.
