• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Am I understanding this correct? You made it all the way to Qatar to watch the match, and then left early? That's amazing, fair play. My old dad would be proud, he always had to beat the traffic.

Unfortunately I didn’t have a choice. We’re staying in Dubai and using the match day shuttle service flying back and fore to the games. The were big issues with clearing the spectators after the first Wales game, for the second game the access arrangements for post match transport were different and required fans to take a longer detour to the station. Quite a few Wales fans missed their return shuttles after the first game and were stranded in Qatar and I rally didn’t want to be in that position. Gaining entry to Qatar wasn't easy in the first place as the Hayya Card (entry permit) proved to be problematic, overstaying coz you’ve missed your flight would jeopardise and future re entries. Moving goal posts re flights and airports didn’t help either. The above and an requirement to check in earlier than we’d been led to believe really threw a spanner in the works. We were already up against time and the issues mentioned above compounded things.

Dear me. Qatar is so unsuitable to hold a World Cup on so many levels.
