Duff confirmed Kuharevych won’t be starting much this season and he was brought in to develop so I think we’ll dip in for a Piroe replacement, we’ll probably change up formation and Ginnelly will end up being a winger for us.

I would have to ask you for the source of that because I don't recall any such quotes from Duff :?:

Was always going to go this window - those saying we were keeping him due to ‘investment’ were always going to be disappointed.

We have tried to sell him for three windows now - and now we have it seems.

A good player but we’ve sold far better over the years so difficult to get upset about it. He never particularly looked like he wanted to be here for anything other than a short stint.

He came here to develop his career. I thought he'd been quite open about that when he joined, although granted that's reliant on my memory.

Saying he never looked like he wanted to be here for anything less than a short time is a bit of a stretch, got on with his job even though not having much service a lot of the time, compare him with Jamie Paterson if you are looking for a player not wanting to be at our club.

Because his camp have almost never stopped putting rumours out about him going to x,y or z club from around 6 months in and about how he wouldn’t ever sign a new deal with us.

I’ve no problem with that - he’s done well on the pitch, this season aside where he’s looked like he couldn’t be remotely bothered, but let’s not pretend he didn’t want to move up from almost as soon as he arrived.

He’s quite obviously always believed himself to be better than us.

I hope he does well at Leeds. I’ve liked him here.

Some players love it here, some don’t. It doesn’t mean that they do a bad job while they’re with us.

Most players we sign look at us as a stepping stone in fairness, it's been said by some (yourself excluded) he didn't seem to value his time with us and was basically "working his ticket" from day one, this I find to be disrespectful of a player that let's be honest has done extremely well for us.

Couldn't agree more. Think a large proportion of rhe articles around the interest in him were generated from our club rather than his camp. Probably partly because his camp were a tad difficult.

But thanks for the memories. Best striker for us in the Championship along with JS9.

Yes, that’s a good point.

It may be that things would have been different if Cooper had stayed.

Who knows.

Anyway as I said, I’ve liked him here but it’s a good piece of business that he’s gone at this point given that he could have effectively gone for nothing come January and would definitely have done so next summer in the absence of a new deal, which, despite recent speculation, I suspect would never have been signed.

If you are referring to me, I wasn’t being disrespectful, or at least wasn’t aiming to be, he was just never set for a long stay with us in my opinion. Let’s bear in mind he’s gone to a team in our division. Now it may well be that they are a much better bet for promotion but it’s certainly not a done deal for them.

To be fair to him he's been first choice for most of the season but lost his place recently.

I actually think he might have more joy in the PL. In the championship pacey powerful forwards get a lot of mileage because there are a lot of centre halves that are either young and too inexperienced to deal with them or are coming towards the ends of their careers and no longer have the pace to keep up with them.

Defenders in the PL generally speaking do not have those issues. The forwards who tend to thrive most in the PL are ones with good movement and positioning or those who are good at manufacturing half a yard to get off their shots.

Piroe has both movement and that ability to create half a yard of space along with an uncanny ability to find the corners with both left foot and right. His pace stops him from being the complete package but if he was then he wouldn't have been playing for Swansea City or Leeds United in the Championship.

With his lack of pace & inability to hold the ball up I don't see him being a success in the Premier league playing as a lone striker.
I think pace is more important in the prem than in the championship to unsettle defenders.
Might be OK used playing off another striker but the team would have to be setup to suit that & plenty aren't.
Very good player no doubt & we could definitely do with someone like him now
