Joel Piroe

Or you could argue if Piroe had put away half the chances he had earlier in the season then we would have comfortably made the playoffs.

The reason why we haven't got in the play offs is obvious. We have conceded far far too many goals and not kept enough clean sheets, and have been unable to see out games when in winning positions ( Millwall home, Birmingham home just 2 that spring to mind) . It is as simple as that.

Was his goal his final touch of the ball yesterday? Assuming that he goes elsewhere in the summer then I wonder how many other players score with their last touch in club colours. Heck of a way to sign off, but let’s hope this is not the case.

Must have been, the ref blew the whistle less that 10 seconds after the restart iirc so very unlikely that any of our players touched the ball after Piroe.

It takes a very odd view of things to suggest that a player who has scored 20 goals in successive seasons is the reason we haven't made the playoffs, not the manager who can only get this team to win games in patches...

When we signed him John van Swedehead said he was worse than Aiden Newhouse 😂😂😂😂

That twitter post ages as well as ice cream out in the sun

Piroe's play when he is confident is a joy to watch and it does make me wonder why we didn't have him taking direct free kicks much sooner than the final seconds of the season.

He has never been blessed with raw pace, but his ability to find half a yard in the box and hit the corners of the goal with left foot or right foot are what gets him goals and makes him so hard to defend against.

You have seen where this suggestion has come from, right?

You could argue that but you would be looking at the wrong end of the pitch.

We scored the 4th highest number of goals but only 4 teams conceded more. It’s not rocket science or even brain surgery.

Copadungpile is a strange one but he's been around since 73 see.

It’s an alternative viewpoint mush.

We've got to sell him, unless we find a massive pile of pound notes somewhere.

Every time we sell a good striker, we always get 'Oh how are we going to replace him, never get someone like him again'.

We've done really well getting strikers in since Trundle, had a few stinkers as well mind. But i can't remember a time since Trundle that we haven't had a shit hot striker. Anyone?

I know, but it's quiet around here. I saw the suggestion that Copa is dgt? If so, I don't mind this latest incarnation so far, he's good for the odd laugh.

Nah, I’m not aligned with that suggestion.

DGT was DGT 73 and as thick as shit. Seems a hell of a coincidence, but probably is, as I think he polluted the air around monmouthshire.

And to be fair, old Copa doesn’t seem as thick or as bigoted, and sometimes makes decent points.

The Sousa season. Kuqi, Beattie, an aged Trundle. Darren Pratley top scored with seven.

You could also argue that the following season we didn't really have one until Borini turned up as Sinclair was more of a winger than a forward. I always liked the way Luke Moore linked up with Sinclair tho.
