Hee was between a rock and a hard place. If he'd let Burnham stand, it wouldn't be long before he was the ex leader of the Labour Party. Don't let him stand then get walloped, it wouldn't be long before he was the ex leader of the Labour Party.
Of course he had to let Burnham stand, the shithouse. If he had any confidence in himself, he’d have welcomed it.

Two positives to take away from this:
1. Reform didn’t win
2. There is still another three years or so until the next GE.

It’s not too late for Labour, but the clock is ticking.

Starmer put himself before his party by not allowing Burnham to stand. Not a good look and potentially a fatal one for his leadership.

Labour MPs need to realise their actions now taken until then will decide the future way this Country goes.....a very serious position they are in, as people are struggling and had enough.

Fartage and Deform so full of shit.

Starmer - or more likely Labour, because he looks pretty much done - needs to wake up and stop all this right wing immigration crap. Hopefully this might be that alarm call.

Hannah, the Green lady’s speech could have been a Labour speech before Starmer and McSweeney started chasing the fascists, the billionaires and the daily Mail. Over 10,000 morons voting.Shitler is still fairly alarming. The good news of course is that they chucked everything at Caerphilly and this and were still humped. The tactical voting idea is getting good, and in neither case could Labour smugly be shit and be the beneficiary. It’s amazing how politics has jumped through the looking glass. FPTP is now beyond stupid, in terms of representation or the illusion of ‘democracy’. Almost as stupid as those that vote nazi.

Get a grip Starmer, ffs. Be radical. Be Labour. Start today.

No chance that's not even in his thoughts or his agenda, I don't know much about this Green party never taken much notice of them, the voter has had a gutsful of Labour the Tories and the majority certainly don't want Reform so not much of a choice, I suppose Polanski seems like a right odd bod with some of the things he says though, so I dunno what to think of them overall.

Have a read of their 2024 manifesto, there are various pledges within that huge swathes of the UK public would welcome with open arms. It just feels a bit light on the explanations of how these would be delivered. The economic policy is also orientated to driving wealth out of the UK, so I would question how their tax policies can be delivered. The challenge now for Zack is how he scales things up from here.

Angela agreed with you.

Any person that wouldn’t openly admit that Polanski is an out and out odd ball is either lying or mentally ill.

He’s not an oddball and I’m neither lying nor mentally ill.

Can he have different opinions? Of course he can, but an oddball it does not make.

That's my view of the situation. He put himself before the party and the country.

Others will say the last thing we need is another PM.

To those who say that, if he was doing well and had the confidence of the people and his own party then he wouldn't have to worry about being replaced.
