Sacked from the Swans 14 years ago today - of course completely airbrushed by the sham that was Jack to a King.

Swansea City are on the hunt for a new manager once again after the announcement that they had parted company with manager Kenny Jackett ‘via mutual consent’ this morning.

The news was confirmed from the club this morning that Jackett would be leaving with immediate effect having overseen his last game – a 1-0 home defeat against Oldham – last weekend.

Jackett joined the Swans in April 2004 and led them to promotion in his first season in charge as well as a FAW Premier Cup victory for the last ever game at the Vetch Field. The move to the Liberty Stadium gave the club extra optimism and that was almost rewarded as Jackett almost delivered a second successive promotion – only a penalties defeat to Barnsley at the Millennium stadium prevented the Swans lining up in this season’s Championship. Two more trophies were added to the cabinet though – both the Football League Trophy and the FAW Premier Cup being secured by the Swans

This season though Jackett had come under much criticism from the fanbase and defeats to Port Talbot in the FAW Premier Cup and three defeats in the last three games had really raised the heat on the manager. However, it did appear that with Jenkins comments in the Evening Post that Jackett would be here for the foreseeable future but clearly after discussions after that article both sides felt that they could not move forward.

Kevin Nugent steps into the role of caretaker manager ahead of arguably the three biggest games of the season and the Swans start the search for a replacement for Kenny.

Wasn't going to be the guy to take us to where we ultimately ended up, but yeah, frequently overlooked in the story of our rise. Left the club in a much, much better position than he found it only to see others get all the credit.

He's actually stepped down from Portsmouth today as well temporarily, for health reasons.

Hope he has a speedy recovery.

Think i mentioned that to my son after we watched the dvd. Literally no mention of Kenny jackett. In fairness to him he got us promoted once and almost did it again so how some people could erase that fact from their memories is beyond me.

The Director, in the Q&A after the screening I saw was asked this question about how Kenny and Sousa were airbrushed out of history as it were, took responsibility for the decision, though I'd be surprised if the directive didn't come from on high. Mel Nurse for me was overlooked too, perhaps to make the saviours look even better. The irony is that in trying to tell their story of their great achievements, and it's easy to forget in these post sellout days that they did do some great things, this ended up being the start of tainting their own legacy.

Where did you see the screening?

In North Wales, he said some waffle about it not being a blow by blow account or something along those lines. But it was a few months after the release, so it was probably a well rehersed answer by that time, as I'm sure this would have been a question in every Q&A, glaring as the omissions was.

Someone asked the same question when I saw it and Mal Pope mumbled something about starting with Martinez taking over because it was like a Lennon meets McCartney moment.

It wasn't a blow by blow account but we still had time to chill with Mr and Mrs Martinez. Pile of rewritten bolllocks is what it was.

I'd love to know how much money certain people made out of it too. A £1.5m budget (allegedly) for the kind of documentary BBC Wales could routinely chuck together for a fraction of that.

Never met the guy, but comes across as a decent guy. Good manager who has done a tidy job in most of the places he’s rocked up. Did a good job at the Swans, left them in a better position than he found them.

Good luck with the treatment.
