Kit release?

Agree you can do both. In which case that’s optimal. But I worry that the local market just isn’t treated with the same degree of importance.

Just a few recent examples of that. First the stupidly late kit launch. Holidays will start next week and people won’t have had the chance to get shirts so you’re losing a big window in missing that.
Secondly, the mascot packages. Insane. I’m sure they’ll be taken up, but the opportunity for kids from all backgrounds in the area to join up to enter draws every week was there and has been lost for the sake of short termism.
Thirdly the lack of focus in clever pricing to address the increasingly empty family stand. Much more could be done in filling that up with potential future supporters week after week.

There are lots of little things that indicate that local supporters are a distant second at the moment to chasing US money.

Look hopefully it all works. And I know people keep saying that they’re experienced in sponsorship etc. but when the new training wear sponsor is a paving company that has about £12k in net assets (according to their accounts in companies house) I’m not convinced we are doing the best we can.

I would certainly hope we haven’t paid Snoop to do a one off given he’s been pictured in endless kits over the years, so let’s hope we are looking at an investment. It’s a weird mix with Modric though…
This is where the Trust needs to be much more active, they are the ones who should be pushing for far more local focus, protecting the interests of local supporters etc.

Kits being out earlier would have been optimal but I’d imagine the snoop dogg alignment has delayed it a fair bit.

The club could however be doing far more locally to build excitement ahead of the new season, and engaging young fans,

It willl be interesting to see if the dial moves on sponsorship deals, the current owners have only been in place for 6-7 months so a bit early to tell. Much of the planning for the current deals would have been done months ago.

The dog bit. Missed it first time. Reynolds kit pic says dog not included that he is holding. Ours Dogg included.

Looks like this is more than just a promo shirt thing with Snoop. From the owners, in the BBC article....

"We appreciate the considerable interest and enthusiasm generated by Snoop Dogg's appearance in a Swansea City shirt," Swansea's ownership group said in a statement.

"While we are not in a position to share specifics with you all just yet, we will be able to provide more details soon and we're excited about what's to come."

Snoop Dogg, now you're talking...even though the kit looks like something you'd pick up in a poop scoop.

I'm just so pleased the celeb it isn't Darran or any of the old fogeys from Cheap Trick.

The ones I know don’t have a commercial bone in their body (Trust people that is).

Some of the current owners have been involved for two years or so now. Additional ones did come in as you say late last year, but let’s hope those new ones have a clue.
