A few less murdering cops too.

Yet if you were sniveling in a corner when one of those scumbags held a knife or gun to your throat the odds would be that those same cops would put there lives on the line to save you.

It is their job though, isn't it? Just like firefighters, lifeguards, RNLI. there's no point in having them otherwise, but a few bad ones spoil it for the rest

I never said that and due process starts by being arrested and taken into custody not running away from the police and reaching into your car.

That's not due process. We don't have to justify ourselves to the police - that's why lawyers advise us not to talk to them , we just have to justify ourselves to a jury or judge. Police are certainly not supposes to hand out punishments They can of course defend themselves and others if life is in danger, but in these cases it wasn't

He's got previous to this incident from 2015, which was very similar and could have turned out exactly the same. The following happened after he had threatened people in a bar with a gun ...

"The police conducted a high risk traffic stop, the complaint reads, and ordered Blake to put his hands out the window of the vehicle. Instead, Blake exited the SUV and started walking toward officers and ignored commands to get down on the ground. Officers forced Blake to the ground and ordered him to put his hands behind his back. When Blake refused to comply, K9 Dozer was deployed to force the defendant into compliance."

"While police were at the hospital with Blake so he could be treated for the wound he obtained from K9 Dozer, officers say he refused to answer questions, but he did submit to a legal blood draw to determine his level of intoxication. At the time he was taken into custody, Blake was searched and police say he had a holster on his hip but no gun. A subsequent search of the SUV turned up a black handgun on the floor behind the drivers seat. A box of ammunition was also found, and two loaded magazines were discovered in Blake’s coat."

However, on 20/02/2018 the Prosecutor moved to dismiss this case “due to witness issues and age of the case"!!
