So where is Widdel if he is not playing for the U23s where is he? Wherenis he getting game time
Funny though isnt it Inoussa same age as Widdell 23 and played at a similar level before coming here yet henisnt being "managed" in.....there are questions to be answered.
There's probably a very simple explanation (Occam's Razor) as to why Inoussa has featured and Widdel hasn't.
Because Inoussa has shown up well in training and has offered more to the first team in his position than Widdel has.

Sheehan clearly does not fancy him. I would have liked to have seen more of him but from what I have seen, I can see why he does not think he is worthy of a spot in the squad.

What did they say about Martin?

Montague's role become redundant, completely separate from the managers role.
fans were saying Martin neded to be given time....3 transfer windows ....look how thay ended.
Montague was sacked....pwrformance related!

With strength and conditioning coaches would be my guess. He’s far too good to be playing U-23 football and will be shocked if he ever does.

Inoussa plays a different position than Melker, you can be a bit lightweight as a winger, in the middle it’s a different ball game.

Can't remember that being said about Martin, if I'm completely honest.

Montague's role became redundant and that has been stated on more than one occasion by the club itself

Yeah, but we've got 3 spaces in that midfield, Stamenic, strength, Yalcouye, Galbraith and Franco as runners and another spot for someone to pass it in a forward direction, Galbraith shows potential in doing it, but we haven't seen Widdell to see if he can do it.. but he must be terrible in training if he can't get in the match day squad

Widdell appears to be the victim of a squad with strength in depth for his position At some point throughout the season one of those players you've mentioned will probably find themselves facing a spell on the sidelines

Sheehan has been rotating the midfield all season, but Widdell doesn't seem to be in contention, he even brought Fulton on before him

Maybe he's just at the same level as the others at the moment who are very good players and he's a completely different type of player to Fulton who has made the bench due to needing us to have a balance when it comes to making changes during the game.

Nobody knows, Sports Science dictates most selections these days, but you can understand why people are asking, we did pay 3+ million on him

Not sure it's the case that Sheehan doesn't fancy him. This article explains the situation.

Sheehan is a smart guy and also seems like a good person, especially with how he gets his players on side.

I do not expect him to tell the truth in the media as that would be too brutally honest. His minutes are decreasing and he is not going to suddenly change if it is athleticism that he needs. Things can change but the way he has been used so far speaks volumes, he is not a teenager either.
