Let's get real ..

People need to manage their expectations.
Some of the clowns will be like rabid dogs if we’re not promoted by February.
So you think the owners of the club after bringing Modric and Snoop Dog on board , basically to lift the profile of the club and get people interested in Swansea city, are going to be happy with garbage like yesterday. Many more performances like that and even the diehards will lose interest, never mind total strangers that the club are trying to attract.

I wont lose interest. But then Im not a massive quilt.

I won't either, but i know a lot of people who have since relegation from the Premier league, and the crowds at some of the night matches last season were down to the bare bones.

I don't think it's a question of managing expectations, Dazza, if we continue to perform like that, we will be nailed on relegation candidates. The signs were all there in pre season, when we laboured against lower league opposition. I was hoping we would be better prepared and motivated for the first league game of the season, but I was hoping in vain. That showing was pathetic, and as others have said, the most disappointing aspect was the lack of attacking intent as the minutes ticked away in the second half. Its like the manager and the players don't realise that the object of the game is to score more goals than the opposition. There was no urgency, no aggresion, no plan for getting the ball into their penalty area.

The lack of O'Brien is a huge difference from the successful end of season run. I hope and pray we get this Brighton lad and he's capable of fulfilling that role. We also desperately need an effective striker. If we fail to secure both, its going to be a long old season.

I want to see a massive change of attitude on Tuesday night and on Saturday, when I'm coming over to see the first league home game.

I know Sheehan won't do it, but I'd like to see our strongest starting eleven line up against Crawley, one to start building up confidence and two to start playing attacking, scoring football. A front three of Ronald, Vip and Inoussa please.

I agree, but no attitude change is going to overcome Vip in a strongest front 3

I like the theme change on the forum this season; it's clear no one is going to accept dire/mediocre performances week in, week out. It's positive that we are now expecting more, and that will include everyone at the club. It will take a couple of windows, but even now the new signings are showing up well, it's the manager and some existing players that need to shape up or be shipped out

Again, Im not in that sub-set. I dont expect anything from a team I choose to watch. They dont owe me anything.

Heres an idea. If you have lost interest or you refuse to suffer the horror that the club is inflicting on you. Stop going, stop watching and go do something that makes you happy.

While I am not going to give Sheehan a free pass (and that second half doesn't deserve one) I will cling to mitigating factors, Almost certainly if fully fit we would have started with Inoussa on the left and Eom in the ten position meaning Galbraith in his preferred CDM position and Franco as the roaming midfielder.

We wouldn't have had to use our last sub opportunity on Ben and could have brought on two other players instead (though why we didn't pull off Cullen at the same time as Ben and played Wales I don't know. That didn't make sense to me).

Eom won't play centrally under Sheehan soon. Sheehan will play 3 workhorses in the middle and expect the creativity from the wide areas.

If things don't go well then he might change things but I am not expecting Eom to play in the no 10 role anytime soon.
