We're sh*te and everyone down the pub said we're sh*te, Coventry were just as sh*te and they'll probably make the playoffs.. first impressions of the new signings and they're mediocre at best.. I remember when players like Tiendalli, Canas, Pozuelo, Lamah, Augustien, Barrow, Orlandi, Gower were routinely called rubbish and they probably were, but they'd walk into this team and play with a cigar in their mouth.. even players like De Guzman, Ki, Shelvey were crap apparently, they were full internationals and played a completely different sport in comparison.. it's early days, but everyone thinks we're play off material, but we look terrible, and I don't think it's Duff's fault either.. we were on our feet by 60 minutes blowing out of our arses

Keep the faith Skip. Set pieces look better at both ends. Need someone in midfield to really grab the game by the scruff of the neck and feed Yates/Piroe

Margetson was the brains behind Cooper's set pieces, a superb bit of business.. I'm keeping the faith, in 10 games we might look half decent, but in the Championship you never really look half decent.. Luton got promoted though, and they're sh*te and Carlton Morris is somehow banging in goals.. but people like Ashley Barnes, Antonio, Bamford score In the Prem.. so even if you're sh*te you've still got half a chance

Gower is a bit of a stretch mind...

Absolute quality as soon as he dropped into CM. He gave a masterclass at Anfield in that first season in the PL. At one point I think he and Leon also topped the European midfielder charts. How we could do with players like that now.

Fair

Duff clearly wants to play a brand of football vastly removed from his predecessor.

Whether you disagree, agree, or are completely non-plussed about that, he deserves better than to be written off as "shite" just 3 games in.

Give him a fair crack of the whip. If it's still "shite" in November, then maybe it's time to start asking questions. Until then, leave him be, to work at it on the training ground. He has to be given time. It's not fair otherwise.

Gower was rubbish. No matter If he was playing out wide, centrally or as a DM.

The only notable thing he did in the game at Anfield was blaze a shot wildly over the bar when hitting the target might have been easier.

It’s not been a great start, granted. But to write off all of the new signings after 2/3 games playing with a new team is a bit OTT.

I’m pretty sure Duff had a similar start at both Cheltenham and Barnsley, so we have to be patient and give him time. A new manager/players/system will all take time to bed in.

All 3 teams we’ve played so far will be up there at the end of the season and we shouldn’t lose sight of that as well - we’ll probably look back at the Coventry result as very good point in the circumstances.

Let’s see where we are in November before making rash judgements

Barnsley won 2 of their first 4 league games under Duff, plus a cup win over Boro. 6 wins and 2 draws in his first 11 League One fixtures was a pretty strong start.
