Levien breaks his silence...

"But while he admitted mistakes had been made during their stint, Levien insisted he felt the previous regime were leaving the club in a stronger position than when they found it"

One point and there are many more to choose from is that the season that ended 2 months before they took over we finished 12th in the Premier League... Absolutely delusional!

I feel sorry for him, because from that deranged interview, clearly the poor man is absolutely ravaged by a heavy addiction to crack.

I hope he gets the help he needs.

So Kapland Levien want a further payment if we reach the prem league..!?!?!

They might be successful in other streams of business, but when it comes to football clubs they were left wanting.

This is not the end for us, we've still got a year or two to spend unpicking some of the recruitment.

They have no claim. We won’t be in the PL in the next ten years. If by a miracle we were, 2/3 of a Clucas for the single year we are there is cheap to get rid of those two laughing boys.

I assume they will have given the club away in return for that insurance policy. Ill judged decisions, as ever.

Personally, I reckon there is reason to be slightly more optimistic than that. No one buys a club with the aim of being a Championship club, because the league is nothing but a money sucking black hole with no chance of a return on your investment. Remember, the last lot took over a Premier League club and I wouldn't put it past them that they thought it was like the MLS system of franchises where relegation isn't a possibility - certainly some members of the hedge-fund weren't aware.

These guys know that they will have to put their hands in their pockets if they want to get to the promised land. Of course, there are no guarantees of success but at least we're likely to see more of an effort to get us there.

However, looking at the way things have gone for teams promoted in recent years I wouldn't expect any top flight visits to be anything more than brief - Brentford seem to be the only team doing things on a shoestring thanks to some very shrewd decisions and the abilities of their manager who, wilst being a complete twat, is one of the best in the division, creating a team that is far more than the sum of its parts. But yes, I agee it's money well spent to get rid of them if it happens, and any promotion is likely to be years away and if they get payments for two of the next 10 they'll be lucky.
