A promising (spoiler free) review. No moist molluscs to be found.

Haven't got round to watching yet, but my father-in-law shoved the Daily Mail review for it under my nose the other day and I felt obliged to read it (even though my first instinct was to burn it and smear the cold ashes all over his face as punishment for buying the rag).
The Daily Heil reviewer hated it in an extremely over the top manner, so I assume it's got some 'woke' elements that have massively upset the poor gammons.

Oh aye. Black hobbits for a start. Tolkien nerds are very likely to hate it as well I’d have thought. Which is no bad thing cos they’re mostly odd weirdos and very precious about their thing. I just thought it was tedious but it was only episode one. It’s visually stunning mind.
