We'll go for a week like always, went to Cala d'Or last year hotel was ok, not a patch on some we've stayed like The Protur Alicia in Cala Bona and the Protur Bonamar Adults only.If you’re going on a shortish trip, have a think about Salou.
We went there on a last minute cheapie holiday a few years ago and we were quite impressed to be honest. It doesn’t have the 5 star hotels and resorts (most are 3 or 4 star) but it did have a really decent beach, a great prom, good bus and train connections with Barcelona and the neighbouring coastal towns like Cambrills (where there’s a regular market) and La Pineda, there are lots of pubs and restaurants etc etc.
We flew in to Reus airport which is very quiet airport and what we really liked was that the transfer from the airport to the resort took around 10 to 15 minutes. If you’re only going for 4 or 5 days with a 2 hour flight from Cardiff or Bristol it’s a winner. Fuengirola has a nice beach and more of a Spanish feel.
We’ve been to Majorca a number of times and it’s really nice. Our most recent trip was a 5 nighter near Can Picafort, unbeknown to me the wife had booked us in to a place that was a 2 hour transfer from the airport plus a baggage collection delay and a delay for congestion!
The Hotel Astoria in Alcudia was fantastic went there in 2017, bit of a walk to beach, but what a hotel and again an Adults only Hotel without the rug-rats running around screaming and shouting.
The Botel Alcudiamar Club that's on the marina perched out in the bay, is a beautiful hotel, we used to walk up there after lunch we had lunch there a few times and sit out on the terrace facing the sea and Alcudia beach, fantastic setting. Alcudia itself was a bit of a let down there.
