• We have today (22nd April) confirmed the closure of JackArmy.net on 31st May. Our reasons are varied but after a twenty-five year stint at the heart of the online Swansea City community, the time is right for us to bow out.

Marks and Spencer's

Agreed. The point I’m trying to get across is although, online shopping has made a dent in footfall in all shops, there is still hope left for the city centre, that’s all people want is cheap/free parking or a great transport system.

It’s kind of crazy really, all these wannabe governments are all on about net zero and 15 min city’s, yet that’s all they have done is make everyone travel to all the out of town retail parks for everything, instead of having a decent transport system, that doesn’t cost the earth, and also get you near to the actual shops.

Indeed, they are making it up as they go along, clearly.Remember they make the rules, we kinda follow. Now when it suits they change the goal posts, you couldnt make this stuff up. Its laughable really it is.
I heard the other day that a raft of Beefeater restaurants are closing in the area, one in Morriston, one in Swansea, the other in Baglan, a sign of the times I guess.

Apparently there's rumour that M&S are going to put a foodstore over in the Lidls store by Halfords off Cadoxton Rd, once they move to their new superstore in the Melyn.

I half expected them to move to Debenhams or at least a section of it. Sounds as if an announcement is going to be made this week to let us know the firms who are setting up there though.

A well known American retailer has been mentioned. 😉

I believe that was offered to them and they said no thanks. Them leaving the city centre seems to have very little to do with the building they're in or how the current store is performing, it's just a change in the kind of stores they want to run.

Personally I think they want something along the line of the Next store in Morfa, a unit like that would be perfect for them.

The Bagle Brook probably not having the foot fall to warrant keeping it open, Mrs and I went out for tea locally last Thursday, spent 82 quid two meals two sweets and a couple of drinks.
Can't being doing that to often.
