Martin absolutely livid with Paterson

I'm hacked off with Russ & he's not helping himself digging out a player like that - stop making bl@@dy excuses & sort it out!
Whoever punched the ball back to the Millwall player was a complete tw@t though- completely unprofessional

You could see him absolutely fuming when the ball was punched back in….
Didn’t think he’d mention it mind !

He's spot on, why on earth are you going to help the opposition.

We were excellent for 90 mins, we should have seen out , after their first goal, just kept possession.

And Fisher should have claimed that last cross, hard to blame the manager for that

Indeed why would you.

But that didnt mean that we had to capitulate and concede two nor should it mean that is his wording in the press responses.

Too many mistakes but every now and again I would like the manager to admit his own.

I did say why couldn't we keep possession after their first, and Fisher should have claimed the second.

You could hardly blame Martin for those 2 instances

Don’t blame him at all for being livid. Should probably keep his emotions in check when he speaks to media though and just keep it in-house.

I don't see a problem with it myself. Paterson increasingly comes across as someone who doesn't give a flying hockey puck.

What he was doing on the bench is another question.

So here's going to run to the media crying every time he's got a problem with a play, pathetic man management. Bet the players love that.

Well I think he's quite entitled when it leads to the opposition taking a quick throw in which costs us three points?

Oh I'm not

BUt I am blaming the manager for his poor man management (again) in this interview and for his side who keep making the same mistakes

How many phases of play were there between the throw in and the goal?

I mean shall we all pretend Captain Fantastic gave the ball away straight from the kick off.

And that Nathan Wood heading in at the tightest of angle with a finish Oba or Piroe would have been proud of.

But Paterson gets the blame? I didn't see it but did he punch it in that direction on purpose?

No no it's all Paterson's fault, burn him.

Plus he can bollock seven bells out of Paterson, but in house, behind closed doors, and in the context of the other errors. Again, Paterson didn’t punt the ball into his own net or give Millwall the freedom of the flanks. That game was won, and only the people on the pitch were responsible for it not remaining won. Not the manager, and not Paterson. They both might have acted differently, but there was absolutely no need for them to if the players had just done their jobs.

That stuff in the press is stupid, and he is responsible for that and needs to wise up. That is just almost certain to be unproductive.

As long as it wasn't Russel Martin's fault and he's told the media that ,then Russel Martin will have slept well last night.

Hail Russel Martin.

Pato punching the ball back into play isn't the reason we lost that game.

And for the manager to go to the press like that about it, shows how much of a coward he is. I don't want my manager behaving like that. Not once in his poxy rein has he gone to the press and say "I'll hold my hands up, i got it wrong". Shithead of a manager.

Lack of professionalism from Martin, however angry he was with Pato it should have been kept in house instead of hanging him out to dry, he should be questioning why Fisher didn't come and punch clear the cross for the 2nd cockup if he's looking for a scapegoat.

Whilst it is not acceptable Martin speakng like that about a player in a press conference and it is not directly responsible for us drawing the match, Martin has a valid point. I saw Paterson punch the ball back in (it was an instinctive reaction to a stray ball, I believe) and at the time thought what a stupid thing to do. Fine margins in top flight sport matter, whatever form they take. Let's hope all parties can learn from this and improve which is the ideal.
