Martin Mis-management

Chief said:
There's no evidence he didn't want to come back due to Martin. He was settled and having a good season at Plymouth and knew isn't going to an automatic starter for us no matter who's the manager. His agent probably also informed him of interest from elsewhere and that until he's sold, he won't be playing any minutes for us. All outside Martin's control.

Washed his hands? Do you think Martin is leaving Whittaker out of match day squads with no forward on the bench out of choice then?

To be honest with Martins comments in the press after he was recalled, it’s probably safe to assume he didn’t want to come back and play for Russ.

There is plenty of evidence.

Washed his hands when he threw him under his own bus on the way back from Bournemouth. Washed his hands when he didn't want him, he's never taken to him. Whereas Schumacher has and has developed him into the sought after attacking threat he his.

Morgan is a lovely, passive, happy-go-lucky lad who wants to make the very best out of his career. He has excellent support and sound advice.

So, when puerile, jealous folk lambast him on the internet, whilst at the same time supporting Martin, some proper fans will look to set the record straight.

I didn’t know you knew Morgan personally congrats for letting us know how the lad is, I can see his loan at Lincoln went brilliantly too…after a loan like that he deserved every right to be in our squad didn’t he and Martin had no right to send him back out on loan, have a rest conspiracist.

Give it up butt, you’re starting to make a fool of yourself now, I bet even those who have some sympathy with your viewpoint are a getting a little irritated by you.

I don’t suppose it’s ever crossed your mind that Whittaker might have found his level in League one.

The key word there is 'after'. And those comments, probably not ones I'd have chosen myself were just a way of not making it as obvious that he wasn't going to play due bring imminently sold. Ie he may not play as there's plenty of competition here already.

What evidence is there then? Care to share it?

Martin has had to wash his hands of him - because he's been told not to play him because the owners are looking to sell him.

Well some people are saying he refused to be in the squad (if true he deserves abuse and not exactly the actions of someone wanting to make the very best of his career, not going to achieve anything doing that), but even then Martin has publicly taken some blame and said it was a joint decision. All moot in my opinion anyway - don't think he'd have played any minutes anyway.

Way back from Bournemouth? When was he there?

1. Evidence - I can't, would be unprofessional
2. Washed hands - you're missing the point - he washed his hands of him yonks ago, despite scoring our first hat trick in yonks, despite being a highly gifted utility frontline player - all across the front and in the hole
3. Refused to play - Nathan Dyer nailed it, check out his report - he was doing the presser
4. Bournemouth away, we lost 4-0

C'mon Chief. I'm not Reslovin. Not playing those silly games. Learn to see the wood for the trees, yourself.

1. Too convenient that.
2. Yonks ago he was far less experienced. He's a completely different far more mature player now (on the pitch). He scored a hat trick in a cup against a lower league side and played poorly besides. I think myself he could definitely have played more after but let's not get carried away. It wasn't a huge achievement.
3. Nathan Dyer did what presser? When? What did he nail? How can Dyer who isn't employed by the club do presser on behalf of the club?
4. Over a year ago?

Well you're coming with out witb some equally incoherent points as that clown does. I see the wood from the trees clearly. There are things to blame Martin for - stick to those instead of unsubstantiated conspiracies just to pile on.

Not playing your games Chief. As much as I respect you.

Focus on being that catalyst for change I mentioned........ it's for the greater good.

From the very outset alarm bells were ringing loudly.

- Russell Martin unceremoniously dumped Joel Piroe from the matchday squad for the inaugural game. At the same time he also stripped Piroe of the #9 jersey and gave it instead to Obafemi. The abandoned Piroe was photographed on Swansea beach training away from the squad, with his father and friend.

- He dumped Fulton - a player who allegedly would never play a game again for the Swans.

- Obafemi was dumped - for 'not running enough'. That's the only explanation Oba was given. Left out of training routines, matchday squad preps, with no support and way down in the doldrums.

- Whittaker was shunned, sidelined and scapegoated - the Bournemouth away game stands out - played left back and left out to dry under a bus when we got beasted by the promotion chasers.

- Pato - dressing room leader Pato was always a big threat. A clash of egos which Martin has failed to deal with. And always will with players who command greater respect from the dressing room. Our game changer, our Pato-Piroe party was dumped. A clash of egos which Martin flunked, disastrously for him and most importantly for us fans.

- Loanees - no words, no more top level loanees unless someone's desperate.

Many, many more examples to draw upon. The overriding theme is crap, insecure, insincere gross mis-man-management. All in the cause of Martin's CV and his cheap car salesman PR machine.

If anyone needs to learn experientially it's Russell Martin. The twisted irony.

.
While I agree with many of your points I cannot understand why you've blamed him for the Pato and Oba situations when they, through their own actions, have made a huge contribution to the situation in which they find themselves, and not mentioned some of the quite costly arrivals like Fisher, and less so Darling, who have failed miserably to live up to their billing? The blame for those cases of mismanagement is undoubtedly squarely at his door.

With regards to Fulton, while he did make a big mistake, Jay is still here and while Martin certainly deserves criticism for this, he certainly deserves credit for seeing the error of his ways and bringing him back to the fold. As for Fulton, he's shown far more mental fortitude than the brittle Pato, Whittaker and Oba have with their fragile egos in tatters at the smallest thing. It may not be PC to say it, but pull your facking selves together mun! If you're that weak mentally, maybe a vocation that relies on keeping calm under pressure is not for you.

As for the comments about Piroe, a lot of it comes across as conjecture with very little conclusive proof. To put this down as your opening point does ditract a little from what is in the main a decent post.

Not conjecture. He’s absolutely spot on with what he said there.
