Myself and many others wanted Russ out until this current run of form, but let’s not pretend that we weren’t utter dogsh*t week after week with it looking certain that Russell did not want to budge an inch with his playing style and ‘process’. Our style of play and suicide football at the back was unbelievably frustrating and we were continuing to play like that week after week despite the awful performances and results (this spans back to last season).

Thankfully something seems to have clicked in Martin’s head that we need to play to our strengths, adapt and ditch some of this idiotic play at the back. Actually take chances rather than constantly passing backwards to keep possession…play with intent.

I’m pleasantly surprised that he’s turned this corner, he’s certainly bought a lot more time now in my eyes, let’s hope that this continues.

bump.

The recent player lead revolution needs ongoing guidance from a coach on the bench to drive through the changes when the going gets tough.

We need Joey barking encouragement and instructions to play the pragmatic winning way. And to make the right tactical and selection decisions.

coulda been 0-5 as I scribe
