Gone by Autumn in Wales, to in a "bid" to tackle obesity, this along with other new laws like the 20mph speed limits being introduced by Dreadful's dictatorship reign, nothing wrong with meal deals, a BLT sarnie coupled with a bottle of water and a tub of fruit, isn't gonna hurt once of twice a week ffs. Him and his cronies are gimps of the highest order. :x

Meal deals are not going anywhere.

Drakeford is one of the few politicians that genuinely cares about people.

It would be far more politically expedient for him to not be doing these things. That would make those complaining about him happier, although they would bemoan the waiting times of the NHS, partially being taken up by victims of traffic accidents and obesity-related issues...

I personally think there's an interesting debate to be had about personal responsibility vs government policies when it comes to things like obesity, but he's pushing ahead with unpopular policies in an attempt to actually help people, most of whom wouldn't thank him for it. Can't think of many other politicians with that approach.

Yeah bang on, and I haven't voted for Labour for around 20 years at a guess.

But, Drakers undoubtedly cares about the people of Wales and for that he will have my respect (but not my vote).

Also picked out a few things from Walesonline's article on this:

In a statement from the Welsh Government, it said meal deals would not be banned outright but the "unhealthiest products" will be restricted from meal deals.

Research suggests that eating a meal deal every day could result in a 6lb to three stone weight increase in a year. It is hoped that by banning high sugar, high fat and high salt foods from this meal combination, food production will aim to reduce these levels in foods.

So as NJ says, meal deals aren't going anywhere, but they want to try and cut out the unhealthiest products at a time when over 60% of adults in Wales are over a healthy weight. We'll have to see how it works in practice (best laid plans of mice and men and all that), but it doesn't sound unreasonable.

Why won’t you vote for Labour, just out of interest?

ThecUK government has similar plans as well by the way. Bloody dripford.

It'll make very little difference if any, people will just buy them separately or other things they fancy that are equally fattening, he's living in cuckoo land, its just another law to control people in my opinion, I haven't voted for him and never will, I look forward to the day he fuks off, he's a control freak.

I agree with your first sentence, but hopefully enough people will think better of it and pick the healthier option (ironically maybe because they can't be bothered to go looking for the more fattening option!).

As for the rest of it, I think you're way off. I don't think the sun shines out of his arse, but a control freak would surely pick policies that would make him more popular and likely to stay in power? I know I'm not going to change your mind though, it's all good.

I don't like him and he's got worse since he was re-elected. IMO of course.

It'll be for different reasons, sometimes because of the local Labour lot, sometimes because of the main lot in London.

Labour killed our town. We managed to get shot of them at local level, hopefully we can get shot of Kinnock next.

Seems strange to me but all opinions are valid I suppose. One less Labour MP just makes tory government more likely.
