I've known Dai for 35 years+, always a cheerful, happy fella who you could have a pint and chat with, had a good apprenticeship and was a handy carpenter who worked on the same job as me on a few occasions. Around the time his old boss retired he became thin on the ground and I didn't see him for a few years, but then about 10-12 years ago he re-appeared as the man he is today, non verbal with 'empty eyes'. What caused it I don't know, but prison isn't going to cure it
