Really? I thought the point of bringing in any manager is to try and improve the squad of players he has and to impose his footballing philosophy….unless you’re Chelsea and Lampard that is.

Of course any manager is there to improve the players he has but Martin has consistently played some out of position.
He's played a formation with wingbacks without the players capable of playing effectively in that formation & team performance & results have suffered as a result.
That's benefited nobody.

For a manager brought in to introduce fast-paced, possession football with attacking intent, there is far too much suicide football...so much so that it isn't worth the 'occasional' good goal.
