By all accounts seems to be one we must have had an eye on for a while but have decided to push for it now rather than in the summer in light of the news that Routledge and Cullen are likely to be out for almost the entirety of the remainder of the season. Cooper has said he wants 2 up top and 2 subs ready to replace them, haven't really seen anything of the kid but lets see how he works out.

Split opinions on Derby fans.

Some say he is weak, lathargic and doesn't show interest and think that 700k is a cracking deal for them.

Others are saying he has tremendous ability, potential, speed, clean striker of the ball and they should have sold for 3-4m with add ons. One fan typed that he reminded him of a young Thierry Henty when he started out as a winger who was destined to play no 9.

Some really rate him, some think he's rubbish, almost all of them reckon he could do with bulking up a bit.

Looks like he was a outstanding under 18 player but hasn't taken that into the older set up or senior squad. Possibly not had the right opportunities
He’ll get more game time from Cooper than at Derby I’d guess but would rather have seen more opportunities given to Garrick.

Suggests they have strong belief in his potential. If they're right, we maximise his value for when we inevitably have to sell him. If they're wrong, we're stuck paying a player we don't want. Hopefully the wages involved are relatively low.
