• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Midday till 3pm and 7-1030pm on a Sunday. Feels quaint now.
I forgot about them closing during the day. Definitely feels different these days, when you mention it.

Adding to my post earlier about the drinking habits of kids these days. We went to see Oasis in the summer and they couldn't believe how busy the pubs were.

I mentioned it was like this every weekend when I was their age and they all agreed it was something they would love to experience compared to now

I went to Llanelli once for a few drinks, whilst I was standing by the bar, someone walked up and ordered food, I was absolutely spellbound by a Llanelli pronunciation of curry sauce :)

Edit: Damm it, meant to reply to Coops. Sorry.
Llanelli pronunciation of curry sauce?

Come on now, it's bloody impossible, I was young once as well mind, and the hangovers do not change.
I am in my mid 50's and I can honesty state I have never had a hangover in my life, regardless of what I've drunk.

It can be 2 bottles of wine or 7 or 8 pints of cider or less pints with wine & vodka but never a hangover.

I find as I get older my sleep isn't so good after a session and as a result am more tired the next day than in my youthful times.

If I suffered from a hangover that lasted many hours or the whole day I'd give up alcohol immediately.

Yes, it was the way they said sauce, never heard nothing like it before, It was a bit like can I have some curry saaaausss. or something like that anyway. :)
It was probably your mate Itchy.

I get the worst hangovers ever, if I drunk 2 bottles of wine, which I did a good few year back, I was bad for 3 days at least, 6 cans and i'm ferked the next day, I've never met anyone that doesn't feel the effects of alcohol the next day. Obviously I believe you.. I thought it was completely normal to feel absolutely abysmal, after drinking say 5 or 6 pints.

In our day you’d have been called a lightweight. Or worse. Much worse.

Had 3 large Jack Daniels, Kahlua and Coke on a new years eve, back a long time ago, not touched spirits since, couldn't get out of bed on NY's day, never felt so rough after a drink.

Wine or spirits, I just don’t touch. Never really had a bad experience with spirits, just never sort of drunk them, but wine oh god drank 2 bottles of white around 7 or 8 years ago, and never been so bad in my life, never touched it since.

If your in your 50's and never had a hangover you are doing something wrong. Try a G of shamonkie, 15 cans of Kronenbourg 1664? You'll get in at 5am, and put Bangbabes on for three days solid 💪
