Must-See Movies

If you like horror films, then 2 good ones I've seen recently (both by the same writer/director): Midsommar and Hereditary.

Of the 2 - Hereditary would be the one I'd class as 'must-see' for horror fans. One of those movies that, after watching, you feel like watching an hour of the Weather Channel or Family Guy just to get your head out of the space it got you into. Its grim.

I watched Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri a couple of weeks ago.

It’s very very good James.

Fabulous film. As is Fargo, also Frances McDormand.

Others I’ve enjoyed (there will be loads but just off top of my head) in no particular order:

Selma
Call Me By Your Name.
Get Out.
Carol.
Boyhood (I thought this was fantastic).
Social Network (love anything by Aaron Sorkin).
Philomena.

Btw. On the subject of stuff to watch. Last week watched Schitt’s Creek for the first time. Have now watched all 6 seasons. Fantastic.

Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Dangerous. An incredibly revealing incite into the clandestine (and often hilarious) modus operandi of the FBI in the mid naughties. Whilst the CIA toiled with the deadly turnover of nasty bastard chiefs chasing Jason Bourne around the world with their "assets", apparently the FBI were more concerned with kidnappings associated with the Miss America Beauty Pageants in Las Vegas. Incredible and a 'must' see. Undeniably the best movie of all time.

Deff concur regarding Hereditary, me and Mrs SH saw a late night showing of it at the Vue. Fckn mental film. The soundtrack etc in the cinema enhances everything unsettling about it.

Revisited an old classic on Netflix over the weekend - Close Encounters. Hard to believe that by today's standards that was a low budget movie.

The Banker,

Based on a true story about two of the first African-American bankers in the United States.

Send him home Wally - good short welsh film. Located in Neath I am told.

I watched Die Hard for the first time ever last night. I am still undecided if that is a Christmas movie or not.
