File under Nathaniel Ogbeta.I wonder how long we have to wait, to see what he’s like in “The Future” ??
If Yates gets games ahead of you, might as well take up knitting. We all know he's been a massive waste of money, but in fairness to the guy, under what circumstances will he get a game? What's the point of him being on the bench?
We actually had wingers and width and their delivery into the box wasn't bad. Even with the smaller players we had caused issues aerially for Plymouth who's defenders you can't say we're towering presences.
He can't get time at home when we need a goal and can't get on the pitch when we're away and losing out of sight.
Baffling and frustrating. We've got the guy now, may as well try and get something out of him.
Probably the same motivational speeches that kept Whittaker "motivated" in the second half of last season.WTF is being said to him to keep him even remotely interested? He should definitely have come on today.
Indeed. Any good football manager who knows what he’s doing will try to make use of all his resources and find a way of playing them successfully together and go from there. We all know he's been a massive waste of money, but in fairness to the guy, under what circumstances will he get a game? Who do you play in the middle if not Grimes? We’d get slaughtered with Fulton and Patino. Joe seemingly can’t manage a whole game.Indeed. It’s no use having pie in the sky philosophies when you haven’t got the talent to utilize them.
Maybe it’s time to revert to the once unthinkable - a 4-4-2 formation with no Grimes in it. Play Lowe and Kukreyavich as a striking pair - with the crosses that came in today some of those chances will be converted. And we won’t be playing so deep and ponderously.
With the wing play we saw yesterday on both flanks, you need a target man in the middle and Kuharevich is the only one we've got who fits that description but I'd definitely play Cullen off Kuharevich rather than Lowe, he's the best poacher we've got and will always be looking for knock downs and anything loose in the box. It may not be the way we've tried to play for many seasons but you have to play to the strengths of the players you have available and the fact the we've invested in pace makes this an obvious change of plan. I'd still play Grimes though but definitely not with Fulton who adds very little positivity imo and the fact that he's always loitering 5-10 yards from Grimes just encourages Grimes to fall into the bad habits of passing to and fro. If Grimes doesn't have that option all the time, he's more than capable of finding players elsewhere. Patino would be my choice but maybe that would depend on who the opposition is and whether or not they're likely to spend most of the afternoon kicking him up in the air.Indeed.
