New Manager

The complete lack of communication on this is symptomatic of the utterly ridiculous incompetence at the heart of the club. And similarly the ridiculous waste of space that is now the Trust.

And they wonder why there is no one there on match day.

Tell fans what is happening. Keep Sheehan til the end of the season, or don’t. Appoint a permanent manager or say why this is not happening. This radio silence is killing the club.

Utter morons.
The issue we now have on top of everything else, we now don't know who the face of the board is hence we don't know what direction to ask the question.

It’s the newly appointed CEO. That is what his job is. To run the club. And be answerable.

Yet we are told Coleman will be chairman until the end of the season.

I am hoping we have appointed this new guy as CEO in preparation for a new managerial appointment.

Complete different situations.

Derby looked dead and buried and having only got promoted last season from League one, he'd have had assurances that he'd keep the job if they did go down. And they'd be a big club at league one and probably come back stronger. Also not forgetting the Venkys at Blackburn.

If we're such an enticing proposition, why has it taken us at least a month to appoint a new manager on the last 2 occasions?

It's this type of complacent attitude and not waking up to the reality of the situation displayed in your post that seems to have infested the club and leading us to sleep walk to league 1.

Yeah, Eustace leaving Blackburn was very much a Venkys issue. A basket case of a club behind the scenes.

I don’t mind the lack of pace on appointments as long as that means they get it right. Unfortunately we’ve not been getting it right for a while. I wouldn’t want Coleman anywhere near this decision, that the main thing I’d be worried about. Whatever it takes to get him out of the picture. If that means Sheehan until the summer that’s fine with me.

Yes, we're in a spot of bother now with not a lot of bargaining power. Any potential decent manager we're going to want to come in (2 losses on spin, 6 points off safety with Leeds away next, relegation rivals on form, squad without enough goals) is going to be able to name their price, which we probably won't pay.

The caretaker boss starting to rock the boat in the press isn't helping things either.

Difficult position to be in as a club currently.
There goes doom 'n gloom, glass half-empty merchant yet again.

As previously stated - Chiefo, so not the go-getting high achiever, dragging down the mood to his level, as per.

Well it's not, it's just someone who is seeing it clearer than yourself and far from nonsense.

The club is a shite show and has been for a number of years, it would be worse from people to just accept it and not question it.

Real fans challenge it because they care for the club.

As fans go, you are the weak link, as per!

The vast majority of people here are all making valid points. Regarding relegation, we SHOULD be fine but we could also easily be dragged back into it depending on our next few game and the results of those below us. Just because we lose a few does not mean every team below us will pick up points. It's a maths game end of the day, so every point we get is not only a point over those below us, but also another less game for them to catch and grab points of their own. We are currently in control of where we finish and not hoping for others to slip up, that is a positive and should ease the doom and gloom mentality.

Regarding the manager, its frustrating. We all knew deep down that the current regime were hoping for Sheehan to pull a rabbit out his arse and grab a few results. He did that, that bought them time. They then used that time to re-structure the hierarchy of the club. The vast majority wanted Coleman gone, he's gone, but now some also expect a manager to be announced at the same time. We cannot expect the club to re-order the higher ups and hire a manager at the same time whilst being embroiled in a potential relegation scrap. Thats a recipe for disaster and would result in some chancer getting a job they do not deserve and potentially doing more harm than good.

From the outside it looks a mess, we need to weather it and get the right fit manager in. I am always more than happy to point flaws out in how the club is being run, but I think they have done the right thing this time and waiting may bear more fruits.

You're demonstrating that you must be a complete bottom feeder to be happy with the status quo at the club.

Don't you have any aspiration?

Explains your love of Grimesy though - sideways then backwards - a very apt demonstration the direction of travel at the club.

)Beyond farcical now, really

Some clubs have already sounded out a successor prior to sacking a manager and appoint within days.

Others have a succession plan in place and appoint their first or second choice within a week or two.

The Swansea City way though is seemingly have no prior plan, bumble through wasting a month and probably end up appointing the caretaker (who everyone realises isn't the answer), give out mixed messages throughout.

And yet we're told poster like mediocrity Andy Cole and Andy Coleman that we have these strategic masterminds at the club driving us forward.

Yet another shambles.
