• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Glass always utterly empty types like you never ever get it.

I have no concept whatsoever what it must be like for such negative, miserably cynical folks like you to wake up every morning with such an outlook on life.

Poor dab. You’re clearly missing your Reslovin moan-a-lot platform, on all planes.

Funny you should mention that poster. You've become a very passable parody act of them.

The fluffy, pretentious vocabulary, the occasional American verbiage, the constant championing of mediocrity. It's becoming rather uncanny.

I did read it quickly as it beeped up on my phone as a new story and was coming out from swimming.

As I'm now officially mid 40s, might be time to get my eyes tested 🤣
Classic Daps, bless

Fair play tho mate, you’re an acquired taste ….. and this place would be half as entertaining without you 👏

Sheehan was given a tricky hand to play. Soton got rid of Martin back in December, but the new guy still hasn't managed to eliminate the instinctive response of "pass it back to the back line so the opposition can score". Martinball is a chronic disease that hides in the crevices of the club until it can emerge and lose games.

Sheehan was given a tricky hand to play, and IMO has done well. Of course the board should should go out and find a young European manager who would easily succeed at one of the top Prem clubs. If they can't do that they're completely useless, frankly.

Yeah of course cos there's a shed load of young European managers that could manage a top Prem team and even more that would turn them down to come and manage us. A bit of realism please.

I was using Socrates' dialectical method, which is a type of reductio ad absurdam. That is to say, whoosh.

🤣. Love it. Is the whoosh sound Socrates spinning in his grave?
He was condemned to death by drinking Hemlock, inducing progressive paralysis until it gets to the heart - so no spinning possible.

When I was a student 'the socialist dialectic' always had to be mentioned by some blokes when in the company of girls, so it's a word I always use frivolously.

It will be interesting to see how the remaining matches play out. I know many are concerned about the 'caretaker bounce mirage' and that there would be a fall-off in results the longer Sheehan was in charge; but if anything, I'd say that would have come into effect after that first burst of fixtures that ended at the international break. But since returning from the break, we've had some great results and got the best performance of the season last night (albeit against a sh*t team), so I'm not sure this is just a short-term bounce.

IF....IF we continue to see a strong end to the season, I think it would be some show of hubris from the club to rip all this up to find someone else. Maybe they already have someone lined up they're completely smitten with and convinced is the right man - and if so, fair enough. Likewise, if they want to conduct a thorough candidate search to ensure they have all the best options in front of them before they decide - great, fantastic - that's what they should be doing, but I think it's going to have to be a candidate that absolutely blows your socks off to consider another reset.

I pretty much agree with all that.

Taking 6 points from the last 2 games while employing wholly different formations and styles of play impresses me. It probably helps that I wasn't at the Derby game and didn't have to sit through it, but last night was a great watch.

If they have their person in mind and strongly believe he's a better option than Sheehan, then fair enough. If Sheehan takes around 7 points from the remaining 5 games and is willing to accept a 12 month contract, then I would be happy with that.

I wonder if we don't have anyone in mind and conduct a thorough search come the summer, would another club without a manager snap Sheehan up while we're searching?
