NFL 2024

Take KC out of the AFC and I don’t fancy any of the other teams when up against NFC rivals. Mahomes hasn’t really fired yet, but he’s got too much class for that to stay like that for much longer.

I was legit blessed to see the team I picked as a teenager dominate the NFL for 17 years but now my beloved Patriots are back as the laughing stock they were when I picked them.
We play the Titans this weekend which is probably already a play off for the number one pick next April.
It seems a looooong time ago that the Titans expedited Tom Bradys exit and heralded the end of the Dynasty by beating the Pats at Gillette in the wildcard game.
So near and yet so far, Sham. One heck of a final play to tie the game in regular time, but couldn't get it over the line in OT.

Maye can playe.. He's legit.
1st pick in the draft hopefully( I'm not too proud to tank) OL is like a row of turnstyles.

Thrilled to wake up to news of the Detroit win at GB.

First pick in the draft with a QB already in place is the dream. If there's a generational talent there other than a QB, they can take him, otherwise they can trade back and stockpile picks as there's always multiple teams desperate to find their QB of the future.

I'm currently watching a replay of Sunday's Raiders@Bengals match.

It's like watching a highlights reel of the worst of the Raiders 1986-2024. Why do I put myself through this?

I'm heading out to New York on Sunday and looking forward to watching the Lions in what is apparently a Detroit/Michigan leaning bar on Sunday night football.

They've been performing brilliantly especially considering their best defender and possible best player has been hit with a season ending injury.

Enjoy!

Off topic, but let me know if you go anywhere in New York you'd recommend. Heading there in Feb and I haven't been in about 15 years.

I've absolutely no interest in the game/drama /soap or whatever it calls itself, my eldest seems to enjoy it though and he's a bright lad so I maybe be missing something :ROFLMAO:

NYC, the greatest city in the world. Each time we go there we end up wishing we’d booked an extra day.

I think the key is to have no plan and to make it up as you go along.

Tall buildings and views: plenty (ESB was our fave, went to The Edge last time, also very good)
Staten Island: take the ferry, we go every time
Grand Central: immerse yourself in the food hall for an hour or two
Central Park: can walk for hours here
Chinatown: the best example on the planet
Little Italy: be sure to go both by day and by night
Greenwich Village: see Little Italy. Was there for Halloween last year, has to be seen. Cafe culture. Terrace culture. Such a nice vibe.
Roosevelt Island: take the cable car over and kill two hours with a walk along East River
Bryant Park: best in winter with the ice rink
Brooklyn: hidden gem, another place to walk for hours, bar hopping.
Lower East Side: see Brooklyn
Legends Bar: sadly not a trace of SCFC exists these days, all shirts and scarves removed. Sad to see, but still call for a pint, Macy’s around the corner.
9/11 Memorial: an absolute must, been three times and breathtaking each time.
And all this before you chuck in museums, shopping, and countless hours spent ambling along looking at the soap opera being played out in front of you.

Covid aside, this is the first year in a long time where we’ve not made it, somewhat gutted. Big one next year though, will be going for the last week before Christmas Day.

Theres a lot to be said for how much playing a sport drives our interest in watching it, especially when developing impressions in younger years

If the majority of us hadn't played football/rugby etc then a lot of us probably wouldn't even bother watching to the levels we do now

It's great fun to play, although the contact version will make you appreciate why they use protective gear
