NFL 2024

I gave up on the Titans a long time ago. When I was heading to Murfreesboro on a regular basis I would always aim to align travel plans to allow taking in a game. Not been for about seven years and interest waned despite the odd good season. Defo a dumpster fire these days.
They certainly had a good spell under Vrabel, getting to the AFC championship game, winning the AFC South a few times, but the past couple of years they've been one of the worst teams in the NFL. New stadium coming, new GM, new coach, so there's some small hope, but this season has been grim.

What’s the stadium plan, and what’s wrong with Nissan Stadium? It’s in the ideal place.

Some good endings to the early games, Niners should have been out of sight but Moody missed three field goals before just about knocking over the winner at the end. Chiefs somehow still unbeaten blocking a last-second field goal, and then the Jags were just about to get the ball back and a chance to beat the Vikings but instead decided they'd start a brawl and get a 15-yard penalty instead.

The new one - imaginatively titled 'New Nissan Stadium' - is being built right behind the current one, with the existing site right on the river being sold for commercial development.

The existing one is certainly showing its age, so it's no surprise they're looking to upgrade. The lack of a roof means they can't apply to host a Super Bowl either or other prime events.

Yes, I see it now. Just Googled it, sounds like a grand plan.

Don't forget the Steelers fooling the Commandsrs into an offside call to seal the game

Thanks Coop. Got off the plane to the news of the 94th mi ute pen against Burnley, so a Lions win against the Texans will feel like some semblance of revenge, JJ Watt and all that!!
Go Lions, that’s some comeback road win!
8-1 with the Jags up next.

Amazing win. I will however file this under Swansea 5 Crystal Palace 4: if you leave early you always run the risk!

Got to the bar early, few people there. My Kenny Golladay shirt caused a good stir which started conversation, I don't think "I got it from a vintage shop in Chester" was on their list of expected answers.

Then the story of how I became a Lions fan. Then the bar filled up. Great atmosphere, really interesting to see how they watch football. Every play was important whereas I just get disappointed if they don't make a 1st down by 3rd down.

Then they did what I'm guessing was the Detroit fight song.

Not for me.

When you've grown up in league two and league one and the humour and sarcasm that comes with chants, the bluster and bravado of American songs just comes across as cringe worthy!

By the end of the first quarter my wife was seriously flagging, we'd been awake for 23 hours by this point so we called.it at half time. Got a cab home.

Great welcome.good atmosphere and really enjoyed the experience, would recommend to anyone who follows a specific team to find the bar that follows that team.

Got to the room put the game on fell asleep with the Lions behind and playing poorly.

Woke up to the news of a last second field goal win!!

Good effort though. An early start, an extra five hours in your day and evening drinks will see most folk to bed.

Whats today’s plan?

Touristy bits today. So far (11.40 here), failed trip to the Jellycat diner in FAO schwarz, so save for another day.

Rockefeller tree with scaffolding and ice rink. Photos of radio city etc. Heading to central station, new york library and empire state now. While browsing 5th avenue. 5 below has gripped my wife!! Probably Bryant park later.

The outdoor market scene may be done now but get yourself over to Williamsburg, amazing bars/restaurants at night, Domino park for a wander in the day

DUMBO is great if either of you are looking for that perfect social media picture..

As a rule the further south you go in Brooklyn the more ungentrified it becomes

Red Hook is perfectly fine these days

If you really fancy it then Coney Island is an experience, I would advise the backup of daylight with that one though
