• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

It’d be a shame if his last contribution was that howler for their third today. Whatever happens though, I’m convinced he’s been the difference in turning our season around. So a very, very successful loan and we should be grateful to him.
I keep saying the same thing, he’s an ok player but never worth what he’s allegedly getting paid.
If a deal can be done then fine but I wont lose any sleep if he stays at Forest or goes elsewhere, he’s played his part but never in a month of Sundays are our improved performances down to him….in my opinion of course.

He had a run of about 4 or 5 games where there was a real energy and intensity about him and the players around him certainly seemed to feed off of that. He has been off the boil somewhat in the last 2 or 3 games though

He helped us stay up and gave our midfield some structure. Shows the type of player we need to step in next season

Could be he is back at the Forest ground today and talked to the powers that be saying he wants to come back and been told..... Nope, youve got 1 yr left on your contract, we paid 6m for you and on the back of those Swansea performances we have inquiries to buy you at 4m so another loan is not happening. Prompting him to say thank you Swansea on instagram.

Just a theory

Sounds plausible.

If he doesn't want to join another club he's not obliged to do so. He has a lot of say in things. I think it's unlikely he'll resign, but I wouldn't rule it out either.

Not reading too much into that Instagram post one way or another. Just a standard issue end of loan statement.

I think our main problem with this will be the timeline. It looks like we're aiming to get business done early so we can hit pre-season with our main guys in place, but I can see LOB's future remaining undecided for a while - Forest will probably want to size up the interest over the summer and will be fine to leave it simmer for a while - if it takes to the end of the window to squeeze clubs into making perm bids, I'm not sure it affects them much.

Saying that, LOB could always just make it clear he's against a permanent move in this window and he wants to run down his contract, effectively forcing Forest into a loan to at least cover his wages for his final year.

Anyway. Be great if he could come back, but it's not as if he's the only person on earth who can do what he does. We shouldn't put all our eggs in that basket. Most Swans fans had never heard of LOB before January; no doubt there are other players out there, heard of or not, that can do an effective job for us, either on loan or perm.

Yep. He was valuable primarily because of what he did and how much more effective it was than what we'd put up with years of Grimes doing rather than just who he is.

If we can get him back on terms that suit us then great. If not then Dimi fires up Football Manager and finds someone else.

We need to realise that he is a Notts Forest player and his loan spell has now finished with us.
I wouldnt rule out anything but finances will likely have a big say and we need to walk away if it goes beyond us.

would be great to have him on board again but there are plenty more Francos out there to replace with.

That second paragraph is simultaneously terrifying and very funny.
