You're right. Yet it isn't quite as simple as that. He's the same knuckled down Obafemi as the knuckled down version who stole the #9 jersey away from Piroe on his arrival.
Obafemi never truly understood why he was then shunned by Martin. The only explanation he was given was: 'you need to run around more'. For a bloke who runs around more than any player who runs around a lot, that was bonkers man-management by Martin.
He's a highly focused young professional, in top shape who just wants to get out there and show us all what he can do when a manager believes in him. Carrot, not stick works best with Oba as we have all seen.
I think people are quick to criticise Martin for Piroe and Obafemi but I disagree I actually think he’s handled them well, he’s the manager if players ain’t respecting him behind the scenes then they should be left out, Piroe went on to have hell of a season under Martin and has started finding his form again, that ain’t someone who doesn’t like the manager, Obafemi has had issues at Southampton they couldn’t wait to get rid of him and their manager often spoke out on his attitude and desire.Jak365 said:bakajack said:Well one way or another he is here until at least January, it is in everyone's best interests if he knuckles down and focuses on his Swans performances.
