• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Mmmmm.

Not so sure about problems getting massages these days, it seem's rather popular.
And haircuts, I've never had so much choice. Also vape shops popping up everywhere in Portsmouth.

My daughter and 2 grandchildren (who have both been diagnosed with autism) have been issued with a section 21 and need to leave their rented house in 6 weeks as the landlord has decided to sell due to the fact that it is "no longer financially worth it" for him. She has only been there for 14 months as the same thing happened last time. Rent has skyrocketed here in Portsmouth and there is a 3 year wait for a council house. Who is to blame I don't know 😕. I don't think it's due to more locals having more babies. It makes us all worried 😟

Unfortunately, I don't have the complete answer but I do think that it's far to easy for them to get comfortable accommodation and all of the other perks. Maybe reduce the insensitive for them to come in the 1st place could be a start. What do you think?
Are you in control of all the facts or just what you're fed by the various media outlets you follow? I know I'm certainly not so don't know with what ease they get all this comfortable accommodation and other so called perks.

Another too as much as I think Starmer has come across as a right wew since the GE I have no idea what the solution is.
It was interesting to hear Trump talking about us bringing the military out but what are they going to do?
Does the Royal Navy have a role to play in this? As much as the orange man chats shit, it did make me think if the navy could be deployed in some sort of way to patrol the Chanel?

Most people need haircuts so that's a positive. I'm not in to vaping so don't really see the benefits of these shops.

I only follow the news on BBC and read the daily mail online. This I do so that I can get a different angle on each story that is being reported on. I'm not on any social media platform so don't get any information from there (my choice). Both of the media outlets I follow report the points that I made. Could you suggest another outlet that suggests otherwise?

I'd certainly stop reading the daily mail.

Deploying the Navy brings about a lot of legal, territorial and ethical problems.

It sure as hell would make us look less of a soft touch though.

Sorry to hear about your daughter's housing situation, I'm very glad that my renting days are in the past.

I'm no expert on the situation, but I think the reason so many private landlords are selling are the changes the government have made to the rental sector. All done with the intention of collecting more in tax, protecting tenants, and making more homes available for first-time buyers of course, but plenty of landlords are seeing their costs rise and profits drop, so they're selling up.

That sentence probably sums up why we are in this situation.

Don't the Australians use the Navy for their illegal immigration challenges? (Don't quote me on this).

As you say, there must be a lot of complications to doing this. If it was simple, I'm sure the Tory government would have done it. Even Farage has said Reform would only do it as a last resort and he'll say anything even remotely plausible if he thinks it will help win votes.

I'm guessing that's because there are rules about making the boats turn around and return to France. Entering France territory to return them would I guess technically be an act of war?

Thinking about it, they'd have to rescue any boast in distress due to maritime laws, so would probably only hinder the situation and not help it.
