The transfer window has traditionally been a period where the speculation is rife, the links are plentiful and the “excitement” gradually builds as the end of August approaches and the clubs look to finalise the squads which will see them through to January and – in many cases – largely see...

Be a last week/few days job for us most probably.

Mitch has just put an article out claiming Ogbeta for example has turned down 3 offers to go elsewhere, Bennett and Jay you'd have to assume would have had similar offers as clubs know they can get them on frees. They won't be budging.

Still think Piroe will be off though, if that's done early it could change things.

Noticed Leicester haven’t signed anyone this summer with Brendan Rodgers saying the club need to be careful with finances when buying players this year.

If we sign a wingback I think most would be happy with the incomings this summer.

I think we’ll see far more outgoings in January & next Summer.

Be a last week job wont it.

Mind boggling how we have gone into the season without a specialist right wing back.

I think some of this is just timing and perception, as we have a relatively long summer window in relation to the season starting.

It's always been the norm for the PL clubs to only allow those players close to the first team picture to move at the last minute. I can remember us being in the mix for a Man City striker yonks ago but it went to the last minute to see whether they could get someone in to allow him to go. Caicedo I think?

Whether that justifies using all our available funds on signing a centre half is another thing entirely. Maybe there just hasn't been a RWB they've seen that's worth splashing the cash and are taking a punt on getting a loanee in.

Either way, it's obviously a bit of a gap, but the window can only really be judged once it ends.

There hasn't been a RWB that the Americans have seen that worth splashing the cash on I think is the case, not Russell Martin.

Partly, but the signings he has made are clearly his own. I dare say they both appealed to the yanks for differing reasons.

To be honest, I don't see them ponying up any additional cash to buy players. Lending it to keep the club afloat maybe, but not for signings. I just doubt there's actually any budget available to pay significant transfer fees.
