Dwindling by every game, the South hasn't been that empty since 2006.. with that performance, I can't see it improving.. 16,328.. 2000 Bristol fans and they're smoking if they think 14,000 Swans were in attendance today

3pm on a Sunday is going to be the same no matter who we play, Sunday for many people is for family, this was always going to be the same once we sold our soul to Sky in the recent new contract. Why come out on a wet and cold Sunday afternoon when you can have you Sunday lunch sit at home in the warm and watch the game live.

Quite a few ST Holders missing from around me yesterday.

But that doesn't explain why our crowds are down whereas Championship crowds are on the rise generally. We are 19th on average attendances but would be lower, probably 21st, were it not for the two derbies.

Probably because up until the last few games the football on offer has been shit plus food, drink and service at the stadium is pathetic.

I'd suggest people have had a titfull and would rather spend whatever spare cash they have on things that they actually enjoy.

Maybe the reality is that our crowds pre Brendan were more like 15k max except for any Derby games and that is our level. You have to remember that for many years with Jackett, Martinez etc we were on the verge of promotion or playing very well with entertaining football.
I only bought a ST in 2007 because suddenly you weren’t guaranteed a ticket at the last minute i have kept it ever since but lots of people around me gave up their ST in 2017/8.

Which is why we have to have lots of marketing initiatives, especially out in the sticks. Every empty seat earns zero revenue. It shouldn't be that difficult to sell out the stadium with its modest 21,000 capacity.

We evidently can't assume people will just turn up - we have to tempt them with offers such as the half priced tickets for the QPR game last season.

One hundred percent they need to be doing more to fill the ground.

If you go to most grounds these days they have things going on outside the ground pre kick off.

We have some amazing businesses in Swansea producing quality home grown produce. I can't understand why we don't have them selling food, drinks, locally produced beers outside and inside the ground.

Fanzone would be great to promote up and coming locals bands and so on.

Had a ST since 2007 and finally decided not to renew last year. I still do a few home games and a handful of away but pick and choose as I see fit.

I've started watching a lot more local league (JD Cymru South) as a result and have been enjoying that far more than the last 4 or 5 years under Cooper, Russ etc.
£5 on the gate, a real sense of community and a beer in hand whilst watching the game.

Absolutely no regrets whatsoever about not renewing and wish I'd done it sooner tbh - the last few years almost felt like an obligation weirdly.

Fact is, in the championship we get 15k average even when doing well (promotion season!). So we're actually doing ok, given the last three terrible years of mind numbing 'football' and nowhere near play offs. We'll be regressing to the norm of 15k or even fewer this season, I would imagine, unless we are doing well. In fact we might do well to average 15k given that people like me, Clasie, Blaster and Saint have packed in their seasons, as most of us have been going for many, many, years.

Looks like the club are avid readers of jackarmy.net 😂

Thread on the Bristol City forum discussing our poor our crowds are. So we have lost 5-6K home support since relegation which isn't surprisingly adding to Covid and RM boredom to the mix

Not sure why the club doesn't get creative and tap into the catchment area. I'm aware our owners have little interest and their foot soldiers are pretty clueless at best.

Next generation of fans need to be attending games whichever packaged deal needs implementing.

Which is what i said in my post 15k is there or thereabouts where we will always be until we get promoted to the PL again or do well in a cup run.
