My guess would be that they're trying to do something with it, rather than replacing it. Not enough time.

Will whoever oversaw the truly woeful management of the pitch over the past 18 months face consequences for costing the club huge sums of money?

Be ready to play on on 30th December against Reading. Ospreys got to play a game at Parc y Scarlets in the interim. Hybrid pitch going down, same as Tottingham Hotspurs.

Hopefully. The pitch has been a jewel for us for years.

What's it got to do with you?

This'll be interesting. Says in the article that they'll be laying "lay and play" hybrid turf - presumably turf which already has synthetic fibres already in it. I assume when they relaid the pitch in summer 2019, they re-did the whole thing from scratch i.e. preparing the surface, inserting the fibres and sowing grass seed on top. So this is a completely different method - sounds like, anyway.

I hope it’s not like that pitch they had at the Millennium that was grown on pallets! 😳

Agree about the MS pitch - that was dire. If it's anything like Spurs' pitch though it should be OK.

It's not clear whether this is a permanent replacement or just until the summer when they'll relay it again.

If it's true that the current pitch has acquired some sort of bug then that's rank bad luck and the club has done reasonably well in looking to rectify the situation ASAP.

We are unfortunate compared to a lot of our rivals in that we've got to tolerate Eggers rolling around on it regularly too.
