• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

If he was walking down the high street and got caught shouting racial or homophobic slurs then I guess he would have fared worse than a stadium ban. Silly boy who got caught. Tough.

No idea how you police a stadium ban though.

I think they've got to report to the nearest nick on match days, or they used to.

No doubt it was more than what he is stating to get arrested, charged and banned.

I saw an incredibly racist post somewhere yesterday that should result in a knock on the door
Whether it was meant or not it still came across as extremely racist.

Unfortunately these type of things are happening on a daily basis.

Too many folks think they can trot out the excuse “I didn’t mean anything bad”.

Those sentenced for the riots last summer are a good example of that.

Honestly guv, I didn't mean to set fire to a hotel with people in it.

I saw this too, absolutely disgusting and thoroughly shameful in any day or age...

He’s unlucky, I’m not being funny we’ve all said dumb things when we were young.

I’ve probably joined in chants that I’ll be embarrassed by now.

It’s hardly an uncommon chant either.

I’m always torn on this stuff because I can see how it’s not nice but policing language worries me unless it’s literal eg a gay player or ref was having that abuse.

It’s a tough one but I go back to it, there’s so many people who will be high and mighty on this stuff.

I remember the shap chanting in very recent history and way more than that.

He’s also a bit dense. The difference between the times that you were singing it, and him singing it, is that security control and mobile phone clips are far advanced from what they were. Time moves on, some people don’t grow up.
