• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

What are we thinking then?

I honestly can't see where the next win comes from.

If it was me I would completely get shot of the wingers now and go to a diamond midfield with vipi and Idah up front, allowing tymon and key to get forward:

Stamenic as the base, Galbraith and Franco with widdel in the 10

I think one of two things will happen:

1. We have 80% possession all game, concede in the last min and lose 1/0

2. We concede early and absolutely capitulate

At least Matos has a full week but not sure what he can do with skills, attitude and fitness in that time. Amazing what the cost of this side in signing fees and wages must be.

Whenever Key "gets forward" we get roasted, and he's bad enough when he's where he should be. Whatever happened to tight marking? Most of these players think they can stop a cross by standing 2 metres away from an attacker. It's like a Covid queue!!

Bit of a cop out (and not sure that the recent performances deserve it) but it’s essential that those of us in the ground properly get behind the side for the next two games.

There’s plenty of time for recriminations in the months ahead but these Oxford and Portsmouth games are not them. 4 or 6 points and some of the pressure will be removed and give the manager some breathing space - which he desperately needs.

Less than 3 points and we are pretty much nailed on to be in a relegation battle until May with 3 or 4 other sides - whilst I think some of the players are better than they’re showing, we’re just not cut out for that IMO

I think we’ll win. I intend to be there cheering for 90 minutes come what may for both games. That’s how critical I see it. Everything else needs to be put aside now. As a club we need to just find a way to win these games.

There appears to be more fight in Oxford than us.
Biggest concern for me is that if believed that Matos brief would be to try and get us up league and hopefully top 6 with the money shelled out.
The Remit has changed dramatically to now to make sure you keep us up.
That is such a different mindset.

Can't see Matos improving our defence without changing personnel there.

The money we spent.
Idah 7mil
Innoussa 5
Widdle 3
Staminic 2.2
Galbraith 1.5
Wales 300k
Burgess free big signing on fee high wage.
Santos free
Keeper free

Loans

Yacousie 1 mil loan fee
Casey
The chelsea full back wont be cheap.

Massive outlays there for what we have got and how much will we recoup.
Can't just keep spending due to FFP we are in a right mesd.

Can't stress enough how important these next two games are.

Don't forget last season looked very iffy at one point, we were arguably worse than we are now at the tail end of Williams. Six pointers vs Plymouth, Hull and Derby were looming and we weren't in great form, but then we won them all.

We simply have to treat these games with the same importance. I think it'll tell us loads about what calibre of players we have, this is where we really find out about their mentality levels.

Based on last 2 games I think we’re worse than last season under Williams. Perhaps matos will improve us , but not without any help from assistants so I’m not expecting much from the next 2 games.

As poor as we've been, only losing by the odd goal, as we have the last two games, isn't even in the same postcode as getting hit for 4 and 5 at Pompey and Norwich under Willy. Let's get a bit of perspective on it.

You’re right we only lost by odd goal but it could have been so many more in most of the recent games.
I’m happy with my perspective and everyone is entitled to an opinion - please don’t suppress that.

I wasn't trying to suppress anything. I just responded to you with my opinion.
