Him and Gazza were once shacked up in a hotel and took a sleeping tablet each
They put money in an ashtray and which ever one of them stayed awake the longest took the money.

He lost over £7 million, some bookies used to offer him £10k free bets to keep his custom…incredible.

I remember seeing it Lifey. He also met parents of gamblers who had taken their own lives.
Very sad and tragic.
Mwrson had also gambled away the deposit he had saved with his missus for a mortgage

He rents his house and works. This is part of getting some money back. Loved the bit where he acknowledges that if Cottee had come to Arsenal he would have struggled to get a game. Saw Merson and Gazza play against Reading, not one pass to each other all game. Very good player, total natural.
