• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Luton named a replacement for him last week, I’m sure it was someone from Forest Green.

It's being rumoured that he's coming because his forte of unearthing cheap lower league gems wouldn't be suited to the prem so he's still going to jump ship to us for a new challenge.

I'd have thought going to the prem and applying his skill set there would be a far more exciting challenge but there.

Hopefully it's to our advantage however.

The only reason that anyone doesn’t take the PL dollar is that they are not offered it. He’s being discarded by Luton. If he had significant value to them now they would just buy him back. He obviously doesn’t. Let’s hope, as you say, it’s for the ‘right’ reasons…more responsibility, different skills required etc.

To be honest though replacing him with someone from Forest Green who’ve just been relegated to League 2 suggests that Watson told Luton he wanted out and not the other way around.

I hope for sound reasons. People don’t usually turn down a potential big payday. Sounds like his position was thought unimportant there, so maybe there was no bumper bonus on offer and our job is more attractive. Hope so.
