There are far too many people happy about yesterday for my liking?
What’s that all about then?
We LOST and now have one win in ten games.

People are losing all understanding of Association Football.
The object of the game is to put the ball in the oppositions net more than they put it in yours.

I for one am not happy.

Too many still backing this fraud of a manager as well. One win in ten games and people creaming over a playoff spot.

Absolutely agree with you , the 2nd half yesterday was a pile of gash. Their keeper didn't have a save to make in the whole 45 mins. You had people around me over the stadium saying " we gave it a good go" and " what a good side they were" ffs . It was Burnley we were playing not Barcelona. We gifted them 2 goals, like we do most teams. Our bench is as weak as they come and the substitutes were totally ineffective. Came out of the ground yesterday in not a very good mood and reading some of the posts on here last night praising the Swans, like you Darran , i just don't get it . WE LOST ,

I don’t hate or love Martin but I must be watching different football to some of these people because we’ve been nothing but average in the 18 months he’s been here,we finished in the bottom half of the table last season and we are currently in the bottom half of the table with over half of this season behind us.

I’ve said it several times that some of the adoration he has got since he walked in the door absolutely baffles me.
Some people adored him from day one and that adoration is still there today.
I’m definitely missing something.

Possession and performance are irrelevant if we aren’t winning at home and at least earning draws away against the bottom two thirds of the league.

Too many lazy performers for me who could do much better if the applied themselves 100% - Ntcham and Piroe come to mind.

Plus the total waste of quality players frozen out because of attitude (Obafemi and Paterson) or because they are too pacy for Russ ball (Whitaker and Oko Flex).

There’s no substitute for pace in this league - just look at how Brewster stuffed Naughton recently.

I really think we have the ingredients to challenge for 6th place provided we get the right cook with the right recipe!

Another thing I’m not getting is if you’re stating facts you’re seen as being negative.
Today we have one win in ten games, that’s not negative that’s a fact.
We might win every game between now and the end of the season and that would be a fact if we did but I’m talking about today’s fact.

I honestly don’t get it.

Darran... you're spot on. I really don't look forward to games anymore. Mostly I'm bored at our predictability, slow pace and unforced errors. Though hats off to Joe, Jay and Ollie for some passion yesterday at least.

Most teams know exactly what to expect from us, just sit back and wait. That in turn also contributes to boring games. We often lob in high balls which rarely produce any result from an organised defence. We are crying out for quick attacks and wide pace to spread defences and disorganise them.

Let's be honest, we are mid table mediocrity at best, and Martinball isn't the old Swansea way. Possession then yes, but coupled with pace...how I yearn for an Angel/Dyer combination.

After 50 years of supporting the Swans, I really have been thinking of not renewing my season ticket. That's just how I feel now. ( But like most of us I know I can't not renew...the Club is too deep under my skin ..but I hate the way we currently play )

Didn't he say after 1 game last season, not sure if it was Blackpool or Sheffield United about late January or February, " that we would see a different Swansea team in 12 months time". Well that hasn't been the case , and as you say his time here has been one of mediocrity and inconsistency., as it has wherever he's been as a manager. His current run of 1 win in 10 is dreadful.

Agree with you Mr P.

I just take it as a reflection of where we are at the moment, maybe improved performances are being looked at as a positive that there is a glimmer that things are changing for the better. Another false dawn?

Undefeated in the away games I've seen live.

My gauge at the moment is how often I scream at the screen for other games.

It's getting less, but not as a sign we have turned the corner, but more just a comment and a shrug of the shoulder when the same mistakes and wrong options are taken

100%. The optimism after a gallant defeat and a win against an injury ravaged Watford is just ridiculous. It must be a forum thing. There are no people that I sit by or people in the pub who think we are anywhere near deserving of a play off place despite the poor quality in this division. As well as the praise from Kompany he also stated
“Eventually it is about keeping the ball out of your net and putting it in the net”

As you say the fact is 1 win in 10, just not good enough

Don’t get me wrong I know exactly what we are as a club at the moment and we are currently just another average championship participant.
It won’t stop me going but I’m not getting the adulation from some quarters when we/he are doing nothing special.

Performances are heavily one sided in slow boring football.

When we click, it shows what is capable, but it they are far between.

Maybe, just maybe, a couple of good signings this month can give that boost we need, but then again the other 10 or so clubs will be saying the same.

Knocking it (precariously) around at the back with 80 odd minutes on the clock and a goal down… wtf?

I'm not seeing or hearing much if any adulation of Martin either on here or at the stadium.
