Yea course mate 👌

You’ve probably heard the one where Keith Richards summoned Cable to his backstage lair after finding out that he’d committed the ultimate sin of breaking the pie crust on a shepherds pie 🤣

I’ll try and find the pic of them with Bowie. Basically they had a football team and the band / crew would play each other. Bowie lines up in full kit for the photo but did not play as his insurance would not allow it.

Np doubt Keith Richards told you this story personally though

No this is a well known tale which the welsh press picked up on years ago. Hell of a character was Stu, sadly his like of a party did it for him in the end.

Struggling to think of bands who improved after big label deals-arguably The Wedding Present but they did not last long on RCA or Island. REM were five albums in when signing to Warners. Literally sucked the life out of Kurt Cobain. New Order were rubbish after Factory collapsed.

It happens to bands who start on majors too look at Coldplay. Their first LP was great then came the pressure from record company heads to write hits. Travis too the same although they are back on an Indy label now I think. One of the very reasons Radiohead have been putting their own stuff out. Their record company were horrified when they heard Kid A.

Coldplay are a good example-Parachutes is great, Rush of Blood to the Head is OK (I like The Scientist of course) but then.....

Few get the leverage to do what they want-Radiohead, REM and to an extent U2 are exceptions.
