• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

If we decide to sell, what would be acceptable?

Coventry have had an offer for Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting Lisbon of 12million Euros (£10.3m) with 3m in add-ons.

I think his contract expires in 2024 too so I'm surprised they've had that offer (if it isn't just papertalk).

9-10mill probably realistic for both.

The really interesting part is how much of whatever fee they get they’ll spend on his replacement.

£7m

Last year of his contract, no bargaining power

Gyokeres 12M?? 🤣🤣🤣. Didn’t our all knowing fans say he was shite?

Piroe is a 15M player all day long, even with one year left.

If you could pick one, Piroe or Gyokeres.. it's Piroe every day of the week.. I've watched Gyokeres a few times this season and he has been awful even when he's scored a few scruffy goals.. Piroe is an expert marksman IMO, he rarely scores a scruffy goal

Piroe's confidence was bashed, smashed to smithereens by Russy's early doors wrong call. Ditching him of the coveted #9 jersey - for Oba, ffs.

Piroe's dad is a hand-on dad and pseudo agent. Coaxed him to bounce back, immediately. photo shots of him training on beach with his dad and cousin show his determination.

Gyokeres arrived here in a fragile mess. He was all over the shop for yonks. Never ever settled despite the ongoing encouragement from Coops. Coops gave him his best (in stark contrast to Russy's dismissive ditching of Piroe).

Piroe, all day long.

He wants EPL, so he’ll be gone.

8-10 million.. we'll probably do business at 5 million though

Agreed at 5 million. We will be offered 6.5 million around the end of June but our "tough negotiating smart businessmen owners" will hold out for 7 million and we'll do business at 5 million in mid-August.

The going rate for a 24 year old European born striker (so no AFCON issues or similar) who has scored 20 goals or more two seasons in a row SHOULD be in the 25-30 million range, sadly with only one year left on his contract now we would be lucky to demand half of that.

I’d imagine Gyokeres’ salary would be much lower in the Portuguese League. I suppose they could always offer him a kick back on the transfer fee via a Trust fund in Madeira though.
