BBC Sport has revealed that the agents of Joel Piroe are not willing to enter into new talks over an extended deal just yet with interest in the forward expected to be high this summer. Piroe scored in excess of 20 league goals for the Swans last season as he was one of the Championship’s […]

I'm no expert but surely we shouldn't be making things like that public?.

It’s fairly obvious he’s off… we need to get a deal done as quickly as possible so it can help us rebuild… ideally we need to bring in another striker, a 10 and a couple of defenders from the deal.

It’s positive though that we are actually willing to give him a new deal and try to keep him here, but yeah it’s fairly obvious he’ll be moving on if a Premier League club come in for him.

15M and we had say 8M to reinvest back would be vital for us could be 3 good signings for that money and we have a goalscorer in Michael here anyway.

Martin and Winter said at the forum his agent is in his ear telling him about a move, so I would guess we will be seeing movement imminently with that. Winter said the club has a valuation and it needs to be met. Confirmed it's over £11m (why that figure was plucked out of thin air I don't know but just going off what I'm reading from one of the fellas who was there).

It's the most often mooted fee for Rodon, which people have whinged about ever since. No surprise that the lower case was picked out as an expectation of what he would be sold for, rather than say the £20m for both McBurnie and James.

We all knew Piroe was off and within the game it matters little. His agent would have made damn sure that prospective purchasers were aware long before this became public.

It would be a shame as he is part of the jigsaw, as already said if it is to happen get it done now so we can strengthen before pre season

This is a key piece of transfer business, in more ways than one. It’s essential that we sell one or possibly two high value players each season and Piroe is in a very small gene pool in this regard.

Piroe is now one year through a three year deal. If we don’t sell him this summer and he has a crap year then we potentially lose one vital income stream: on the other hand if he has another stormer then we could be held to ransom in summer 2023.

So where do I need to drive him to?

We'll settle for about £8m. Our valuations as we've seen in the past don't matter it's what we can get to keep solvent.

If they give him an extended deal now it would be for the purpose of extracting a higher transfer fee for him over the summer

His agents don't want this because it will limit the interest in him

I know it's a consequence of the sad state we're in, but it all seems a bit self defeating. Let's bring on an exciting new talent, so we can sell him to a Premier League club, and bring in a few million so we can.....buy and bring on an exciting new talent, so we can sell him to a Premier League club and bring in a few million, so we can blah, blah, blah.

Where's the feckin AMBITION? how are we ever going to get promoted again if we keep selling our best players to survive? Why are the feckin useless Yank owners hanging around here if they don't want the club to grow, succeed, reach the heights and eventually bring them in a massive payday?

Blame the model where we're paying more in wages than we're bringing in. Or we could borrow like most in this insane division. God forbid any club lives within their means so they can actually build and avoid being a distressed seller.

I doubt it's just the agent hawking him around either, the recent press articles do rather scream as being leaked from the club.

Of course, if the exciting new talent turns out to be anything but exciting or even talented we slide through the trapdoor to a lower level. We’re constantly one poor summer window away from relegation.

Little doubt in my mind that the club have made the decision to cash in on Piroe this summer and use the money on other targets

Not sure I disagree with it so long as the money is used wisely and on the right players
