Not heard anything about this still being on the table, was it just a promotion clause in his first season at Leeds or are we in for a win fall?

Well if there is one, we’ve got it. They didn’t fall apart again, lucky for them.

Should hopefully fund Darling and LOB
That's my thinking. But Darling has had his offers from us. If he wasn't gonna take it now, then he won't. Unless he wants confirmation on Sheehan, which I still don't think is the case. Rumours of Birmingham City links for a while. I stand by that, he will sign for them this summer. LOB how ever much I want him to stay will go as well.

Darlings body language on the pitch appears he is enjoying his football..

Darling's wage announced to ward off Brum and other, if you really want to top that, he is yours for taking, Probably makes him one of highest paid defenders in Championship.

Just shy of £2m, considering we are also seeing the back of Pedersen who is bizarrely one of our highest earners and that should be enough in the bank to offer LOB and Darling pay deals close to the upper ceiling of our pay structure. If Darling doesn't sign after that then so be it, he is a good defender but not so good that a team should break the bank to accommodate him.

LOB is a different story, in his case its more a point that like many players he loves it down here when he makes the move but the real question is does he love it enough that he would take a 50-60% pay cut off his current salary along with the promise of consistent first team football with a manager who seems like he "gets him"?

Others may offer him more, but is it better the devil he knows?

Wouldn't the fee for O'Brien also be a huge obstacle? I believe he'll be in the final year of his contract, but Forest are presumably going to want a decent chunk of change for him. I doubt they're under any pressure to let him go cheaply, definitely not if they get a CL place.

He doesn't fit in their plans so they'll be glad to get him off the wage bill

Any thoughts on us signing Hannes?
He's barely figured under Sheehan, so no idea what he thinks of him. We'll certainly need a minimum of 2 CB's if Darling leaves, so I wouldn't be against it if the cost involved is suitable.

As for O'Brien, his impact here over the last few months won't have gone unnoticed. I'm sure a Championship club with more money than us will give Forest a good sum for him, perhaps one of the relegated PL teams. They'll also be able to get closer to his current wages than we could.
